Unlike most hot spring resorts in North America where the public pools contain chlorine and unruly packs of screaming children (we all know what happens when you mix kids and warm swimming pool water), Salt Spring Spa boasts 100% unadulterated, unfiltered underground mineral water that is piped directly into each chalet's bathtubs. I lived in Japan for 4 years and... More

Thank you for the great review. It's refreshing to hear from someone who understands what a "spa" is really all about. We hope to see you again soon. Sincerely, Shaughn Jenson, GM Salt Springs Spa Resort More

This place is nestled along the northern coast of Salt Spring Island, in a place that is quite difficult to reach if you don't have a car (an alternative option is to take the bus to Fernwood dock, from there it is 15 minutes on foot). The chalets are very nice and warm inside. They are equipped with semi-full kitchen... More

Thank you for your review. We're so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. We have looked into your issue with the towels and robes and have discovered that the new unscented organic detergent we switched to was not quite fragrant enough. We have opted for a naturally scented one and have also made an order of new... More

A fire was prepared for our stay in the chalet, all that was needed was a single match. The cabin was comfortable, clean, and cosy. The interior is all wood, with a wood buring fire, a full kitchen, and a mineral hydro-jet jacuzzi. We stayed in a forest suite; which I think is best, as there is more privacy, and... More

We went as a family (2 parents, 2 grandparents and a 1 year old and 3 year old). On arrival we found out the children were not allowed to play on the grass at the front (for privacy of other guests) and that they could use another area that was poorly maintained and held no interest to the kids (i.e.... This was our first visit to salt Spring Island, and we hope to return many more times. Enjoyed our short stay in a forest view chalet, it was very clean and cozy. The bed and bedding were very comfortable, and we slept well after a soak in the hot spring fed jacuzzi tub - just the thing to cure jet-lag!... More

We visited Saltspring Spa Resort over Labor Day weekend, the weather, island and resort were excellent. The individual cabin units at the resort were very comfortable and well equiped wit a full kitchen area. The water viiew cabins all face the lanes between Saltspring and Galiano Islands in the Canadian Southern Gulf Islands. You have a view from anywhere in... More

Stayed in "chalet" 3 for three nights. No maid service- you put your linens in a plastic tub and outside your door and they replace them with fresh (only 50% of the time for us though). Jacuzzi tub was a cool idea- it was weird that the tub was coated with mineral residue, still seems dirty to me. Bed, sofa,... More

My friend and I went there on the kayak package. $800 plus tax for two nights accomm, kayak tour, RMT sports therapy massage and dinner at the only restaurant near there. Great location, cute cabins. Two receptionists over the period we were there - one was lovely but had been there a month and knew nothing about the "resort" or... More

The resort has seen better days. If you go ask for one of the newer cabins. Ours was 2 bedroom #10, lots of room but not that clean, poorly lit and the plastic patio furniture was stained and old. Grounds are unkempt. The spa is okay but not luxurious at all. It would be okay if one was expecting summer... More

The cabins are clean, comfortable and have fully equipped kitchens. There was some wear and tear showing in bathrooms (caulk needs replacing, tear in vinyl floor) and the furniture was dated but overall was fine. Bed was very comfortable but lighting was bit dim for reading in bed. The big jacuzzi tubs with mineral water are fun but expect a... More
