My wife and I bought a discount voucher for this place not being fully aware what to expect. We were honestly blown away upon arrival. It had this old country feel to it, and was also romantic. The food and service at the hotel was wonderful, and the food in general through Salt Spring is incredible as well! It's worth... More

Never before had we stayed in a hotel in North America that can truly compete with the very best country hotels of Europe. Eric Bishop, the outstanding general manager, sets the tone. He and his team know what perfect service is: we felt welcome and extraordinarily well taken care off at all times. Things had not started well though. We... More

We had the good fortune to eat New Years dinner at Hastings House.Lovely setting, wonderful service and the food, oh the food!. The Wild Mushroom Armagnac Bisque was excellent, smooth with an exciting taste, The Junipered Venison Tender Loin was so good that it melted in my mouth, and the Belgian Chocolate pate along with the Artisan Cheese platter topped... Enjoyed a fabulous New Year's Eve dinner with friends in the Hastings House Dining Room. Our table was beautifully set in a cozy corner overlooking Ganges Harbour. We delighted in the personalized menu detailing each of 8 perfectly prepared courses. Starting with caviar & blinis and ending with a dark Belgian chocolate pate, the dinner was simply magnificent. Kudos to... More

Was really looking forward to staying at Hastings House; have been to Salt Spring a couple of times and have found the accommodation to be lacking in quality and value. Hastings House is fine, I guess it does what it says on the tin, it tries to emulate an English country house. Trouble is, it's stuck in the mid-20th century... More

What sets the Hastings House apart from other high end hotels is their immaculate attention to detail. For instance: -fresh muffins delivered to your door at 7:30 -wide selection of coffees, teas, and fixings available in room -the most fluffy towels we have ever had, with heated towel rack -Salt Spring Soapworks and Molton Brown toiletries -transportation from ferry terminal... This is a warm, friendly place, with accommodations spread out to create privacy, quiet, and a real sense of peace. It really feels like you're staying at an old English Manor. The staff are all friendly and happy to serve. The breakfasts are filling with a delicious menu featuring a daily special. We stayed in Farmhouse East, which I would... More

We did not stay here, so we are reviewing Bistro dining and the patio drinks experience only. We tried to book for dinner but were told that they were fully booked. When I asked whether there was a chance to just see the beautiful place, I was told that I could come for drinks on the Patio from 3-5pm. Or... More

We love HHouse and returned again this year. The location, the grounds, the views, all make it a must visit place. If there was a downside to our visit it was that apparent understaffing is impacting the overall guest experience as the existing is pressed to keep up and the food and beverage operation is needing a revamp to bring... Lovely room with a spacious interior and plenty of amenities. Excellent view of the harbor. Walking distance to the quaint town full of shops and restaurants. Beautiful grounds to walk around with many stops to sit and take in the beauty of the place. Friendly staff with a can do attitude to make your stay enjoyable.
