I spent a total of 4 nights here spread over a week in this historical home that overlooks the harbour. This was the first residential building in the city at its very beginning. The property and house are owned by the city and leased by Colleen, a desendant of some of the first railroaders in Prince Rupert. She is a... More

I first visited the Pillsbury Guest House in 2003, and ended up staying for a week on a much needed break from the whirlwind in Silicon Valley. Staying here was what I needed then, and every time I return, it reminds me of what true hospitality is, and why treating the "guest as a god" (as Indians say) is so... More

My room was next to a noisy fan from the casino next door. Four rooms have to share one bathtub with a handheld shower attachment. The tv has poor reception. Room was cluttered. No window screen. Room doors have no lock. Linen not fresh. Dusty room. Lamp switch broken. Thin skimpy towels. Great breakfast! Great location!

Very old original house in Prince Rupert. Fantastic breakfast, with the host singing Edith Piaf with a little show each morning. Loved it. Great views of the harbour as well and close to town. Would have been nice to have our own bathroom, but we managed.

The Pillsbury House is not for those who like all the refinements of a first class hotel. This is though to be the first home built in Prince Rupert, approximately 1909. So it doesn’t have all the refinements of a fancy hotel. The 3 bedrooms are up one steep flight of stairs and all share the one bathroom with a... More

I stayed for 4 nights in a single room which was on the small side. There was no tv or hot drink making facility and the bathroom was shared. Wi Fi was good and available free of charge. I arrive late at night after the long train journey from Jasper and Collen made me feel welcome and offered me tea... More

Our acronymn for Pilsbury House, EGG; Eccletic, gracious, giving. Colleen was welcoming, immediately after we arrived she extended an invite to our Uncle George for breakfast. She gets the WOW factor for our initial meal, fresh fruit cocktail with fresh, perfectly sectioned orange pieces, sweet grapes, served with a fresh piece of coffee cake. Next course was her perfected eggs... More

Firstly, I agree with other reviewers, staying with Colleen at Pillsbury Guest House is certainly like living on stage in a period home. After all it is the first home built in Prince Rupert and as such a significant landmark. We had the master bedroom which has its own small sitting area overlooking the harbour and was a bonus. The... More

The view from the master bedroom is breathtaking and the historic rooms are very nice. I stayed here with my girlfriend and we loved being able to stay in the first house built in Prince Rupert. The breakfast in the morning was a 3 course meal and easily the best B+B breakfast I've ever had. Plus you can get a... More

Very comfortable room with a newly remodeled bathroom down the hall. The house was charming. We learned of it's history from our hostess, Colleen at our gourmet breakfast and were also treated to an Edith Piaff concert by Colleen following our meal. Amassing talent! Great location - could walk almost everywhere. We had a panoramic view of the harbor from... More
