a) The BEACH is virtually at hand: sandy, wide, gorgeously sited, great for swimming, watersports, games, firepits; even with a Yurt-cafe and a smoothies-stand! b) Our group sees an eco-friendly, uniquely creative, healthy, seasonal "inside or outside camping-resort" primarily for families or younger adults. Modestly priced. Laid out under refreshing cottonwood trees are both the 11 landscaped & well-equipped YURTS... More

This was our first time staying at the barefoot. The staff at the reception counter we really friendly. The room was less then addiquite: blood stains on the dovet, what looked to be sunscreen oil stains from people laying on the bed. We notified the front desk and they sent the maids over immediately. When I opened the door, I... More

Usually when we go tent camping we are surrounded by seniors in massive trailers watching satellite TV... but not here!! This campground was fantastic because unlike most places, it actually caters to tenters and young adults or young families! We found that most other campers were close to our age (25) which made the experience fun, they also have a... More

We stayed here on the latter part of the long weekend. Needless to say it was extremely busy. It's location to the beach is only seconds away and there is a small tunnel to use which makes it safe for families with small children. We were camping and the area was busy which was as expected. The toilets/showers are in... More

What a great concept. We arrived the last day of the Labor Day long weekend, so the resort was very quiet. We enjoyed the stay in our 24 foot yurt, with full size fridge, microwave and barbeque. The only drawback was the noise from the highway and airport (both very close to the campground.) Earplugs helped in the evening when... More

We spent 3 nights in yurt #8. The yurt was clean and new. With a bathroom, a kitchen and a king sized bed included, plus a bbq, yurts are a great way to 'camp'. Location is across from the beach, so you can't really beat it. Yes it can be loud with the airport nearby and the traffic from a... More

Hi BeeandJay, Thanks for reviewing Barefoot! The noise from the traffic certainly dies down considerably during the night and the airport has its last flight of the evening shortly after 11pm so it generally doesn't interfere with most guests sleep. Thanks for the insight on the communal area. We will give that thought some consideration! Thanks again for taking the... More

My family and I had a family reunion at Barefoot a couple weeks ago. My family stayed in the largest of the Yurts. It worked out well for the 4 of us. We could have had 5 comfortably but 6 might be a bit much. It was great to have a full size fridge and nicely equipped kitchen. All cooking... More

Hi Janette F, Uh oh! Sounds like you've been spoiled by the "glamping" experience. It makes it pretty tough to go back to roughing it after trying one of our yurts! We really enjoyed having your entire family with us for the weekend and we certainly hope that we will see you all back again soon! Thanks for your business!... More

We stayed at the Barefoot Beach resort in a Yurt in July. We had the Jacuzzi tub suite that included a bar fridge, small kitchen area and a full bathroom. It was a beautiful spot connected to the Skaha Beach via a tunnel under the highway. The facilities are all new and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay very much.... More

Hi Dollie G, Thank you for taking the time to review Barefoot! I'm extremely happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us. It was certainly unfortunate that we had as many fires in the region as we did this year - but I have to say even though it created a little extra noise - A huge thank... More

Came with a group of 15 girls 1 boy adults. We all really enjoyed our stay and everyone is on for next summer. Yes you are next to the airport but we did not find this to be an issue at all. The staff are so lovely and helpful. The food in the restaurant was also good. The showers are... More
