Travelled to hotel with my family and we had a connecting room. We came for a wedding and really enjoy our stay. Staff were very friendly, sat on the patio and had prime rib dinner. Kids swam in the pool and my husband enjoyed whisky bar. We recommend this Hotel!

The room was fairly spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel could do with some updating however. I liked that the room had a fridge but I disliked that wifi access was not free ($6 a day - it is free at less expensive hotels in the area). The receptionist was friendly and helpful. Overall an okay stay.

Pool out of order, exercise room had no heat. The exercise machines were ancient, and abused and not looked after. Screen readouts on machines did not work. Sounded like they were on their last legs. No TV remote in exercise room. TV in room small and old, bedding was sub par. To top it off there were extra charges on... More

Don't be misled by the name of this hotel - it was a disappointment for us. The room we stayed in was very, very dark - near impossible to read unless you pulled a chair over to the window. There is no overhead lighting and the floor/table lamps are not where they should be in relation to the furniture and/or... More

our whole reason for choosing THE GRAND HOTEL was for the use of the pool only to be disappointed by how cold it was! No hot tub to warm up in after the cold pool and the gym equipment was in rough shape. The room was adequate but poor lighting. our room was outdated (didn't know the floor above us... More

Have been stay at this property for several years and now just renovated a couple of floors. Very nice new bedding and furnishings. If you like to read in bed... forget about it as in other hotels the new low wattage light bulbs will make you go blind. To plug in your lap top you need to unblug a lamp.... More

I stayed here a couple times. Once I paid quite a bit extra for a suit which was ok but not the luxury I was expecting. This is a nice place but I suspect it was nicer before. It could do with an update or lower prices because there are other places to stay in the area for the same... More

My family and I attempted to stay at this hotel a few days ago, within a half hour of turning off the lights we heard a mouse trying to get into the bag our dogs food was in. Upon turning on the light and looking for the mouse (which we did find) we turned up the covers of the bed... More

Although extremely uncommon, we take any report of bed bugs extremely seriously.  Even though there was no evidence when our staff carefully inspected it the following day, our guest experiences are of utmost importance.  The suspected room was immediately quarantined, and professionally sprayed, and inspected.  Rooms would never be put back up for sale until it was 100% certain the... We were somewhat disappointed in this property. We booked one of the newly renovated rooms and I'm glad we did as I don't know if I would have enjoyed staying in one of the older rooms. Regarding amenities, I found the hotel to be slightly below average. Our room looked out onto a rock wall. The room was clean and... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience SageGuy.   We are glad that you were happy with your room on the newly renovated club level .  The rooms at the back of the hotel overlooking the garden and rock wall are often requested by business travellers because they tend to be very quiet.  City view rooms looking...
