After a long drive and many hotels booked between Victoria and Nanaimo, we decided to stop here. Uh Oh...No No.... The receptionist was the best. She was friendly and very efficient. That was about the only good thing. Upon entry to the room....it had a smell to it. Floors were not clean at all. The table moved and it was... More

This place is a motel with one of the rooms used as a dorm. The room was clean, but kind of small for 4 bunks. The bathroom was alright but there were fresh towels and small shampoo left which was nice. Over all for the price its a decent place to stay. My only complaint is the location. A bit... More

I booked a bed in the Value Lodge Backpackers Hostel. Sounds like a nice place to stay as a backpacker. I arrived after a long walk to discover I stay at a Motel. Ok, let's just check it out before I judge. As I entered the room, I saw a motel room with four bunkbeds: stuffed up together with no... More

Booked 2 days here and I will never again stay at this motel. Pros: Office and other staff were very good. Helpful Beds were comfortable and bedding was clean. We were a leery of trying the attached restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised. Older but clean. We would go there again. Cons: Remodelling is basic. Kitchenette is older cabinets, bar... More

Looks as cheap as the price. TV doesn't work and it was cracked. No garbage containers anywhere in the room. No staff at the office after 10pm. Don't recommend this place based on our experience after driving 8+ hours plus a ferry ride over here. Looked forward to a relaxing night, but wasn't the case.

Stopped into this motel on the way to Tofino and had a great experience with my girlfriend. I had stayed here previously before a few years ago and its much different then the last time. The room was clean and well organized. I didn't expect to have a LCD TV in the room for the price we were paying but... More

I spent a week there in October and in was perfect. From the motel we have easy access to highway and we have been visiting a lot around. From Qualicum to Cowichan Lake, we do a lot of nature adventure. The money we save at this motel allow us to do more on the Island. The room was clean, smell... More

I recently stayed at the Value lodge August of 2013. I have been there once before in 2009. The difference is night and day. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, They were extremely accommodating with letting me know what their was to do in the sleepy town of Nanaimo. From restaurants to bars, they even let me know about... More
