The title sums it up. It is very clean, very well managed and run hotel. Very friendly and professional staff. BUT, it is two-star hotel - location (along the highway), amenities (very modest), breakfast (toasts, muffins, and coffee) - all are two-star level. So why in the world it is priced at almost $200?!

We stayed in a non smoking room which smelled like smoke. We noticed an ashtray on the balcony. The staff was rude upon check out. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. You have to pay to rent the paddle boards and kayaks. The hot tub and exercise area are located in a different building on the grounds

Thank you MsLucey for taking the time to share your thoughts and experiences at our Inn. I do apologize that your room smelled like smoke-as a non smoker I fully understand how annoying that is. There are indeed ashtrays on the balconies, as we do allow our guests to smoke on their balconies, so long as they close the door... More

This hotel could teach the chains how it should be done. Great staff and great hotel. I dont know his name but the grounds keeper / maintenance man had been there a long time and should get a raise. Good for guest relations, Always a smile and very polite. Great breakfast room as well.

Marilyn and the staff went above and beyond to help me surprise a couple of friends who stayed at the hotel! With customer service is left on the wayside these days, it made me feel really good to support a locally owned and operated hotel instead of big chain hotels! Reasonable price, right on the lake and excellent customer services!

Thank you for your wonderful review. I will pass your compliments on to Marilyn, as we are always glad to hear that our efforts are appreciated. We are proud to be an independent hotel, and the freedom that allows us to be a little different than your average "chain" properties. We are a unique place, with our setting on the... More

Stayed for 2 nights in July 2015 in a non-smoking Family Suite on 2nd floor. Well-furnished, good view, good staff, good breakfast, good facilities. Hotel was completely full but still good. Just how a privately-owned hotel should be. Recommended for one one more nights in the area.

Thanks FutureCanadian. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay our Inn. I agree 100%-it is ``just right``. We are always working to make it a little bit better, but it is a great location, and a very comfortable place to stay. We are proudly independent, and try to be as wonderful as our lake side setting. Thank you. James... More

This has to be one of the nicest hotels we have ever visited. From the moment we entered, the greeting from the attendant at the desk was very warm , cordial and welcoming. We had reserved a one bedroom suite on the third floor. It was a beautiful and immaculately clean room and a large and very well equipped bathroom.... More

On websites, we saw that most of the Nanaimo hotels were low end, mid-century motels. Not much with any romance or style. The Inn at Long lake has a good photo, and a great setting. This hotel was "just OK", needing an upgrade, but nice people. Breakfast (included) was all cold cereal, danish and fruit. No hot entree. It was... More

This motel is fantastic, friendly staff, clean rooms, and great location, right on the lake in the middle of the city... Forget about it, stay here, you'll thank me. We rented the paddle boats for very reasonable $10 per half hour and toured the lake. Highly recommended.

We had a great time at this pet friendly hotel situated right on Long Lake in the suburbs of Nanaimo. You cannot walk to City Center from this place but it was a nice quiet retreat just minutes to City Center by car. We usually get rooms on the top floor but we got one on the ground floor at... That is a great review RoMistry. Thank you. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay, and it sounds like the dog (Gabby, the gorgeous Airedale right?) enjoyed her time here also. I know that having a patio that walks out onto the lawn works well for many pet owners. I think our breakfast is pretty good too-we now bake... More
