Stayed there for a nite last week. It is in a nice safe area in downtown Nanaimo. I stayed in room 1111, and the views of the harbour, sunrise and mountains were astonishing. I had a drink in the Bar one night, and lunch and breakfast in the restaurant off the lobby, and the service and food quality was exceptional.... More

Coast Hotels, generally speaking have a reputation for being good to their staff and as a result their staff pay it forward providing great service to their guests. Hard to believe how many operators in the hospitality biz still haven't figured that out. Clean modern comfortable rooms contemporary post modernist decor in the rooms. We loved our stay at the Coast Bastion in Nanaimo. It's location is excellent, right downtown. The rooms are newly renovated, with amazing views, really nice bathroom, cool carpet and comfy chaise lounger. Will definitely come back. More

There was nothing wrong with the hotel, check in was fantastic, staff were great, room was updated and looked modern in stature. I think what irked me the most was you pay that much for a room, and there is no breakfast included or even a coupon for the restuarant downstairs, you think something would be added with our stay...
