We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while visiting family in the area. It was between Christmas and New Years and the hotel was very quiet. It was our first stay and we were impressed. I researched every hotel in the area to find one that wasn't a rundown, smelly old motel with dated rooms, and this was the... more

I stayed several nights in this hotel and did not check out because the only other option was completely booked. This hotel is standard Best Western - very poor. Except this place was even worse than other Best Western properties. They should be called the Worst Western. This hotel smelled of urine outside my room in the corridor. Had no... more

I was in town for a meeting and I stayed for one night at the Best Western Dorchester. I had a lot of work to get done the night before and I appreciated the quiet location and the comfortable room. The rooms are tastefully decorated. They are clean and modern with flat screen TV's which was a very pleasant surprise.... more

This was the first time visiting Nanaimo and I chose the Best Western Hotel in downtown Nanaimo. My room overlooked the Harbour. The room was very clean and extremely comfortable. The style and ambience of my room was inviting after business meetings during the day. The front desk staff were very friendly, informative and pleasant. I had the opportunity of... more

This is a nice hotel located in Downtown Nanaimo with friendly staff. I love to stay there because of the location to my work place and new renovation. 32" LCD Tv is very nice in the room. If you are planning to stay in Nanaimo, I strongly suggest you this hotel for you with harbour view room. more

Never Again! Avoid this hotel unless you are into bugs. Yes, I got bitten by bedbugs and had a rash for over a week. I complained to the manager but was told that it is not their fault guest bring them in. Very rude manager. I was late for the ferry and didn't bother to take it any further. The... more

We just walked in to the hotel and they found a room for us. If I would have done some checking first, I probably wouldn't have chosen this hotel. For the price, the room was much too small. I guess it has a great location but I was just passing through and didn't care much for the location. The bed... more

This place was strange. I had the smallest room I have ever had in a hotel. You litterally opened the door, nearly hit the bed, crawled over the bed to the window and then there was a bathroom. The staff wasn't particularly help and did nothing about the drunk guy from their lounge hitting on women in the lobby(while he... more

I booked a two-night stay for a weekend getaway before a week of work in Vancouver. Having read the other reviews here, I was expecting a mixed experience, and that is what I got. Paid $110/night corporate rate (and got a comment at the front desk how "cheap" it was). The check-in was inefficient, in that I had to wait... more
