Holmesdale House Bed & Breakfast is a quaint historic house tucked behind hedges and greenery providing the feel of being alone in the country while quite close to the great little shopping area of Duncan. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable. The owner Cassandra made us feel very much at home. Sitting on the deck in the shade was lovely.... More

This was our first ever B&B experience & we couldn't have had a better introduction! Holmesdale House was lovely. The historic home is quaint, quiet & very comfortable indeed. Breakfasts were creative & delicious -(coffee was fabulous!!!) and Cassendra provided a wealth of excellent historic and touristy info for us during our stay. Would definitely recommend Holmesdale House B&B!

Holmesdale House B&B is the oldest house in Duncan, and is quiet charming. Our room was bright, cosy, and clean. My wife and I felt very comfortable there. The breakfast was plentiful, satisfying and healthy. Cassandra, was very helpful and accommodating. She helped us plan our itinerary around Duncan, pointing out places of interest and providing us with maps and... More

If you are looking for accommodation on Vancouver Island check out this property by checking in to Holmesdale House. It is an old building with a fascinating history, very comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast. More importantly Cassandra is a warm and welcoming host who made us feel very much at home. Unfortunately due to time restrictions we could stay... More

We spent 2 nights at Holmesdale. The house was built in the 1880's and has been lovingly restored and maintained. Period furniture enhances the ambience. Cassandra is an attentive but not intrusive host. She is also a wonderful cook and a good adviser on local sights. There is much to see in the district and it is worth spending more... More

Stayed overnight and Cassandra was very accommodating with my later arrival and early departure, serving a divine breakfast before I left for my work commitments. My room was very clean and although the house is tucked away, you are really only a few minutes drive to the city centre.

I'm writing this review on behalf of my parents who recently spent 6 nights at Holmesdale House, which they used as a base to explore Vancouver Island. Cassandra was a wonderful host and a fantastic cook. Much thought had clearly been given to the sensitive decoration and furnishing of the house, in keeping with its age. Their room and the... More

At the end of our week-long exploration of the Cowichan Valley in mid-August 2013 we needed a B&B right in Duncan so that we would have only a short drive to the Saturday Market to snag the freshest goods. Our research indicated that Holmesdale House seemed to be the right choice based on its location close to downtown but well... More

This historic home is well appointed with all mod cons in heritage style e.g claw foot baths, old world taps and fittings, and tasteful bedding and furnishings. Cassandra does a fabulous breakfast and caters to all requirements including gluten free. The ensuite rooms have a lounge area to share with frig and microwave and books, DVDs to borrow. Additionally, the... More
