Cabins are across the road and railway tracks from Gates Lake, but this wasn't a problem for our family (kids from 3 to 11 years) - they loved the paddle boat and kyaks, which were available to guests at the cabins. The resort is in a beautiful setting and the cabins are rustic & comfortable. Staff are friendly. When we arrived, Blair said the nights are quiet. we stayed in a "cabin" last weekend, for $130 per night it should have been better, the bed was clean but that was it, every thing else was dirty. We had a fantastic time here! the owner was very welcoming and we really enjoyed ourselves. Simple but comfortable cabins, gorgeous location on a pristine lake in the mountains. Our group of 20 people stayed in 5 cabins of Birken Lakeside Resort. I was amazed by its location with great lake and mountain views. Upon arrival, we received a very warm welcome. The title says it all: the cabins are (really!) dirty, (really!) bad maintained, (very!) expensive. Public washrooms only. Not worth a single penny. Better book a nice hotel in Whistler or Pemberton for half the price.

Stayed here over the September long weekend with my girl friend and was thrilled how wonderfull the cabin was to stay amonst the beatifull lake and mountains!!! Will be going back in the fall for a second visit, without question.
