We tent camped here for 1 night. It was a nice quiet site and our pitch was very private with lots of trees. The site is in a lovely location right next to the river, a lovely walk and views. There are no showers but the toilet blocks were fine and close to the pitches. There is a nice 'feel'... More

Travelling with a family with two small children and a 25ft RV, this was the best campground we stayed at around Jasper (we also stayed in Wapiti and Whistler). Although it's about 10 Miles from Jasper, it's only a 10 min drive. Compared to Wapiti and Whistler, this is a quiet campground with a lot of privacy. In weekend evenings,... More

We've stayed at Whistlers (our favourite) and Wapiti many times. This was our first time at Wabasso and it was disappointing compared to the other two. We didn't see any wildlife (Whistlers is full of Elk, etc), the sites are much more open (fewer trees and less private) and no showers... And quite frankly the bathrooms were kind of gross,... More

We booked campsite A49 in the tent only loop a few months ago. The site was marvelous, it was spacious and right next to the river. There were some sites in the loop that were definitely not so stellar. The downsides: the bathrooms were a bit far away, the firepits were pretty small little things and there wasn't a lot... More

I wasn't expecting much because we were only able to reserve a last minute site online a few days before the Canada day long weekend, so my relief of even finding a site outweighed my pickyness. We had a little trouble finding the site originally and actually drove about 40KM past the site which wasn't so bad because the scenery... More

Since this campground is a few miles away from Jasper, it is likely less popular than Wapiti or Whistlers. We stayed on a Sunday and Monday in mid-July, and there were a number of sites still available. Pros: - It was very quiet and relaxing, with the Athabasca river running just beside the campground. - walking trails along the river... More

Stayed three nights in early July. Beautifully sited campground; individual sites a decent size, nice walking trail along the river, some sites w/decent amount of shade. But dirty! For all the signs about being careful for bears, the dumpsters nearest our site (in C-loop) had large piles of garbage and recycling that had been left there for a day or more... More

This campground was OK but not more than that. Many fir trees, no views. Very dusty and a lot of mosquitoes (because of the trees!). It is very long from Jasper and because of that we did not see much of it. On the other hand we only went to Jasper to drive along the Icefield Parkway. Cannot recommend this... More

We camped at Wabasso on the September long weekend and really enjoyed it. Though the reservations said the campground was full for the weekend, there were many open spots (no shows?) so it wasn't too crowded or noisy. It's not too heavily treed, but the sites aren't packed in too close so privacy is not an issue. I had requested... More

We just got back from a very last minute mini-vacation escape from the city hustle and bustle out to Jasper National Park. We stayed at Wabasso Campground, and we plan on going back. For only a small firepit fee, we received unlimited cut and stacked wood for our firepit. The washrooms were very clean, and the entire campground was spotless!... More
