Despite the name, there are not a lot of Elk around. This campground is close to the town center and to Whistlers mountain which makes it convenient. However most of the sites are too close together. We booked a place facing the river, which was very nice. There are no fences between you and the drop to the river so... More

This was a great campground with an amazing view. It is dry camping only. There is a power option but it's a parking lot and not my cup of tea. There is a fantastic trail system that takes you right into Jasper. An hour walk on the easy trail with a stroller. They also have a narrow path for scenic... More

Clean, but below the standard at other campgrounds. Sites not well defined, wood not available, loud neighbors, showers to far away. Dog poop everywhere. The bathrooms are clean. Good location for a base camp to do other activities.

Our showers were slightly warm, staff was friendly and helpful, neighbours were non-existent. We stayed here for the may long weekend and it was a little cold but we made the best of it. It was a typical campground; nothing out of the ordinary, nothing really that would wow you. Our site was quite spacious - more than enough to... More

People who work at entrance gate friendly and helpful. We camped at A8 where there was a nearby wash room and toilets and also an outside wash basin with hot water for washing dished, etc. The shower bldg was a walking distance away. Campground located a bike ride or short vehicle ride to downtown Jasper. Camp spaces very close together.... More

I was frankly disappointed in the representation of this campground. this was booked by my son who lives in Alberta. The website says that it is right on the river, which is was not. There were numerous uncut stumps around the campground which was dangerous for children and adults alike. the river was not accessible for either fishing or swimming... More

Wapiti Campground is very close to Jasper town. Tent camped in site A 15. This site is quite large and backs to a nearby river. I really liked this campground, the sites were big and somewhat private, the bathrooms clean, shower houses clean and empty. It was very quiet even though the campground was booked out all 3 nights of... More

Well organized campground reservation system! Nice and quiet. Clean bathrooms, nicely kept sites, decently apart. Nice grounds for tents. Elk passed right through tha area - be careful and smart. Mix of rv's and tents though .

Wapiti is in desperate need of a revamp. Go for a drive to the showers/firewood pickup area and you'll know what I mean -pot holes that you can ditch a small car in. In terms of site privacy, we were at M3 and this part in particular was in desperate need of some TLC. The site was littered with trees... More

Good campground close to Jasper, excellent base to explore the national park. Tent sites in more wooded section & separated from the RVs. Nice hot showers, friendly staff. Reserve your spot, as they are often booked full in summer, though it doesn't feel crowded even when full.
