First off, my family comes to this campground for two weeks every year so we're familiar with this facility and the area. Whistlers Campground is located about 500 meters south of Highway 16 on Highway 93 just south of the Jasper town site (about 5 minute drive away). It has almost 800 campsites of different levels and sizes so make... More

Being from the UK a fire pit is something new and we loved it! We bought a fire permit and were told where we could collet wood from. Our rented RV had an axe so my husband acted like he was back in the scouts fire building! Of all the campgrounds we stayed on this is our absolute favourite. Be... More

This would be my 2nd visit to Whistlers, and as far as campsites go this one is stellar. We booked ahead by a few months and have a favorite loop we like to stay at, where it is quiet, near amenities and is scenic (its a secret though). The location is very close to the town of Jasper, so in... More

Where do I start... This is a large campsite (200+pitches ) set within the national park, the setting is great but don't expect any bells or whistles. On arrival no trouble with registration, we had booked prior to our arrival so we knew where we were going to be pitched. Good tent site but no fire pit, just as well... More

We feared the worst but were pleasantly surprised. Upon our arrival we found that a huge campground still had wonderful shady sites with good privacy and distance from one site to the other. My wife reported that someone had had an accident in the ladies room and even though I was late evening it was quickly cleaned up. We had... More

(Stayed in loop 64, site W. Walk to water / plumbed bathrooms: 2 mins, walk to shower house / main playground, amphitheater: 12 mins). This is a gem in the Parks Canada collection of national campsites. Site like this provide what others in Alberta (private, provincial) do not: a peaceful opportunity to enjoy nature, in a quiet, family-friendly atmosphere that... More

My son, husband and I were camping last week in there, Unfortunately It was one of the terrible camping experience in there. First the staff were very rude to us, just for asking some questions, it seems like they never got trained to talk to people before, it was very bas since it reflected a very bad image of Canada... This is a great campground. The showers are a little older but good enough to get clean considering the camping is generally smoky business. The lot we booked ended up being larger than expected but we had a fair amount of privacy which was what we wanted. There are a limited number of sites with campfires and require fire permit,... This is one of the largest campgrounds. Great to get your own little spot with a fire pit but it costs $8 per day to have a fire. Good of you just need somewhere to stay, not very wilderness like, is just in the forest. Bathroom facilities were good

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Parks Canada interpreters put on evening shows all summer long, and a new interpretive trail running through the campground means it’s an easy walk or bike ride to town for an ice cream afterward. Those looking to rough it without getting their clothes too ruffled can reserve new Cottage Tents, where you bring your own food, drinks, axe and bedding, and Parks Canada will take care of everything else. ... more   less
