We've stayed in quite a few of the HI's across Canada and this one we feel let the bunch down a little. No major disasters but generally: - Internet / wifi was abysmal for the whole 3 days we were there. Usually wouldn't bother us but one day was a full on rainy day so we were hoping to catch... More

Due to travel delays I was only in Jasper for 12 hours; I got to HI at 8pm and left at 8am the next morning. The location isn't great if you don't have a car - no shops/restaurants for 4-5kms, and no food for sale at the hostel (except vending machines). The female dorm was huge - more than 20... More

Note this is a hostel and not a hotel. If you are looking for a hotel keep looking. This hostel has massive dorms and on the first night I had to dig out my ear plugs as there seemed to be at least 5 loud snorers. Also I stayed in a mix sex dorm and was surrounded by females, not... More

This hostel is 1,5 hours walk (7km) out of Jasper, the bus to get to the hostel costs 5CAD pp, for one way, which is insane and a rip off, but still cheaper than a taxi.. (15-18/2ppl) The bus only goes about 5 times a day and the latest ride is already at 5pm even during high season. The hostel... More

4-5k out of town. Have a car or be prepared to pay for a taxi due to the limited free shuttle offered by the hostel. On arrival we were greeted by a surly English girl who could barely muster the enthusiasm to greet us properly. We all have bad days but in the service industry you can at least slap... More

My friends and I have stayed at many HI (YHA) hostels around the world and this one was simply not good enough. We stayed 3 nights in July 2014 and were seriously disappointed with our stay. The main complaints were: 1. The hostel was about 5km out of town. Not a problem for us as we had a car but... More

Not a very good place to stay and bad location ur a long way from town don't even think about trying to walk to town it's way to far and the hostel itself I didn't like it I found it to be a bit of a dive the price is right though but I would spend alittle more for a... More

My gf and I stayed here for four nights and what a great time we had! Below are my PRO's and cons of our stay: Pros: Staff were friendly and very helpful! Kitchen and living area link works really well, very social! Great views from the hostel The rooms surpassed our expectations of a 40+ bed dorm, privacy is fine... More

It wasn't terrible to spend the night here but if you have other options go for it. It's a ways out of town. The bunk beds are old and rickety. You could smell the woodsmoke in the dorms when you woke up and my friend and I developed a cough because of sleeping while breathing it in. The bathrooms are... More

Staying at this particular HI hostel was like staying in an orphanage or refugee camp. Cons; - biggest issue was the rooms. There is one female dorm which sleeps up to 30 people. And one mixed dorm which sleeps up to 40! It's one big room, like a hall, with heaps of bunk beds. The photos they show on their... More
