Can't thank kable, Sara, their Staff and all their friends that we had the privilege to spend a few days with.Like minded knowledgeable folk that lifted our stay here even higher. Cabins are warm, comfortable and Sara is a great cook. Beautiful setting, fishing on the lake, wildlife and good company what more could you want

We can add little new to the glowing reviews for Tonquin Valley Backcountry Lodge other than our first impressions, some thoughts on the value you get for your money, and a few items to bring. We hiked in on 22 August 2014. The hike in is about 15 miles, which we covered in seven hours. We would consider ourselves strong... More

Our group of five hikers (most ages bet 66-69) started at Astoria trailhead on a bluebird perfect day in mid September 2014 and took 8 hours to arrive at the Lodge. Our packs weighed bet 15-25 lbs. depending on amounts of water/libations we carried. Spectacular scenery at every corner of the turn, but trail predominantly wet/muddy vs. dry. Recommend good... I have stayed at several lodges, this one is exceptional! It is rustic and beautiful! The people are salt if the earth, the food is excellent, the beds were very warm and welcoming! This could be one of the most beautiful places in Canada!

My wife and I spent a most fun & memorable 4 days at this comfortable lodge set in an unbelievably beautiful valley. Sara and Kable are most considerate hosts and Sara is a great chef. Tonquin Valley attracts a very nice group of folks to hang out with and get to know. The beauty of this place is unsurpassed. Sleeping... More

The Tonquin Valley may be the most beautiful place on Earth. Our hosts Kable and Sara and their staff made our stay absolutely amazing! Delicious home cooked meals, ultra comfortable cabins with cozy down duvets and wood stoves, and the most beautiful backcountry to explore on foot and by rowboat. I highly recommend Tonquin Valley Backcountry Lodge! Do yourself a... More

Our wonderful friend, Mary invited us to join her on this trip to ski into the Tonquin Valley. Using various kinds of lightweight touring skis, we were greeted at the lodge by Gloria's beaming smile. Took us 7 hours to ski in due to problems with skins dealing with some sticky snow issues in the early afternoon and a fairly... More

I forced my lovely wife to hike here on our honeymoon (we didn't take horses, because we were only staying for two nights) I have been to 50 countries in the past decade and traveled extensively in most of those. Tonquin Valley Backcountry Lodge was, without a doubt, the best travel experience of my life. The hike in is spectacular.... More

What a vacation I had this summer. I went to the Tonquin valley with Sara and Kable and had an unbelivable time. The Tonquin Valley is unsurpassed for natural beauty. The Ramparts,(mountains), Amethyst Lakes (2), great hiking, caribou. I went on a five day trip by horse into the Tonquin along with five other people from one family. Sara, Kable,... More

We really loved the Rockies as a whole, but the Tonquin Valley Backcountry Lodge was by far the most memorable experience we had during our holidays in Canada. The scenery was outstanding and one could really enjoy the nature and the national park around. We also appreciated the environmental friendly feel in the place. The owners, Cable and Sara, as...
