After a very long (yet breathtaking) day of driving, we arrived at Sunwapta Falls Rocky Mountain Lodge. We were pleasantly surprised at the condition of the accommodations. Each room has its own private entrance on a nice little deck. I hadn't read much about the hotel, but booked it because of its location. We didn't have any food with us... More

We enjoyed our one night stay at Sunwapta and had we not had reservations elsewhere might have stayed another day. After arriving later than expected (because hwy 93 is gorgeous and it's nice to meander a bit) we quickly checked in and headed straight to dinner. Outstanding and friendly service, and both meals were delicious (rainbow trout and pork tenderloin).... More

We stayed here for a night with my entire family. The service both at the hotel and restaurant was fantastic! The only other way to improve (in my opinion) would be to have slightly larger beds and longer ones :) Thanks!

Cabins in nice private locations amongst the tall tress, real fireplace in room, nice decks on most cabins. Room clean and comfortable - but no blow dryer!. Restaurant had good food and accommodated us as we were past breakfast time. Friendly staff. Would like to spend a couple of days there, rather than just a quick stop-over night. Falls are... More

Kerry, our official greeter and desk clerk was a real delight. She made us feel welcome from the get go. Kerry has the gift of hospitality. Due to her initiative of planning a day trip for us, we were able to see what was on our agenda plus more. Server Ashley and Restaurant Mgr. Stewart were the keys for our... More

Misleading advertising. It is on a major highway - just a series of basic cabins and two storey units and not a rustic setting. My husband did a tour of the buildings which revealed very basic structures and poor maintenance. He did speak to the manager (he did identify himself as such) in the reception area and associated dining area... More

Just off the highway between Jasper and Lake Louise, this lodge is a great base for several hikes. The accommodation was comfortable and the staff were very helpful with info regarding hikes and trails in the area.

This resort is right on the road about halfway between the town of Jasper and the town of Lake Louise ... really not much else except campgrounds along this stretch. The lodge is not bad, but is showing the years and could use updating. The biggest highlight is its proximity to the gorgeous Sunwapta Falls (hike to both upper and... More

Though the lodge is on the highway the surroundings afford a much more park ambiance than places in Banff, Jasper or Lake Louise. My front door opened on a veranda and then wild forest beyond. The accommodation wasn't very lodge like but comfortable. The staff was great. Great walks and trails just close by.

This is a fantastic base for exploring the Rockies, the staff were brilliant, food very good and the accomodation was clean and spacious. Some even have a fireplace which is realy cosy to sit round on chilly nights. You will have to have your own transport as it is 30 miles out of the town of Jasper but ideal for... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A recent recipient of TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence, Sunwapta Falls Rocky Mountain Lodge is an ideal choice if you're looking to unplug from the hectic pace of regular life. Most often chosen for our location, the lodge is a scenic 45-minute drive south of downtown Jasper. Located just off the Icefields Parkway, our cabin-style accommodation is nestled in the forest between mountains and lakes with just a short walk to the beautiful Sunwapta Falls and many major attractions nearby. In the evenings its just us, the stars, the sound of the falls and the scent of wood burning as it crackles in our many fireplaces. There's no cell phone reception and there are no phones in the rooms. Despite our rustic setting, our accommodations are immaculately kept with award wining housekeeping practices, and our evening dining is not to be missed. Satellite internet is provided via WiFi at no charge and satellite TV is also provided at no charge. With only 50 rooms, the service at Sunwapta is exceptionally high. Our front desk commits time to each guest, providing complementary expert advice and daily customized sightseeing agendas to help you experience those WOW moments.
