Glad we opted for Black Cat Ranch which proved to be quite far from Jasper. Not fancy but very clean. Homely atmosphere and friendly staff.Great food, tranquil rural setting.Plenty of outdoor activities- walks, horse riding or just plain chilling! Well worth a visit.

Awesome stay at the BCGR! We spent 4 nights nestled in a great guest ranch tucked 10 mins north of Hinton. The owners really try to make your stay comfortable. Every morning you get to wake up to a fantastic mountain view and the best part is you are tucked out of the way of the highway, roads and people!... More

The place was not clean, very poor condition, did not smell good! Had to stay the night as it was so late when we arrived & it is so far away from anywhere! You also have to drive across a river, which had not been mentioned at all! The owner was pleasant, but unfortunately everything else was unpleasant, including the... More

Not sure what to expect having read some reviews. We arrived with a very positive family welcome. Just what I love. Enjoyed coffee and cookies whilst waiting for the room to be ready. Huge lounge, great views, horses outside. Room was good, beds very comfortable and good bathroom. Dinner was excellent and everyone guests , owners and staff all ate together.... More

My friends and fellow artists have been coming here for just over 10 years, once or twice a year. We come to relax, get away from it all and just enjoy our art and each other's company. Black Cat Ranch serves this purpose perfectly, no cooking, no dishes...a lovely clean and quiet sleep, wonderful food and fresh air for walks... More

What a great treasure in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains near Brule Alberta. Went to this ranch this past weekend. This is a great place to unwind. It was so quite and peaceful, no cell phones, no television, no computers, and some may call it rustic. Our group were the only ones staying there and we played board games... More

The people are wonderful and full of information about the area. Family style seating at the meals lets you get to know other guests. I was able to learn about so many things to do in the area and throughout Alberta from fellow guests who have traveled extensively. Very articulate and educated guests and staff. Simple, rustic rooms, extraordinary setting.... More

Very deceiving, I was not impressed at all. The food was double than a restaurant would be and they would have a choice, here you got what they cooked and thats it. Old and out of date, cow bells on the horses ringing at all hours, slamming doors at all hours because doors so stiff. For having no amenities it's... More

Wonderful place with plenty of trails, riding horses, deer running wild just outside your door. It doesn't have all the fancy ‘stuff’ of a big hotel, but was comfortable enough to relax and take advantage of the natural surroundings. Excellent food-homemade-very quiet and peaceful atmosphere away from all the craziness of a big city-very picturesque. Michaela & Daniel-Calgary

I booked this room based on the photos online as I was traveling from Edmonton to Kelowna and wanted an overnight in the country. The reveiws were encouraging so I took a chance. All I wanted was some peace and quiet. The room I was assigned was very dated (not in a good way) and the smell of the room... More
