My friends and fellow artists have been coming here for just over 10 years, once or twice a year. We come to relax, get away from it all and just enjoy our art and each other's company. Black Cat Ranch serves this purpose perfectly, no cooking, no dishes...a lovely clean and quiet sleep, wonderful food and fresh air for walks... More

What a great treasure in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains near Brule Alberta. Went to this ranch this past weekend. This is a great place to unwind. It was so quite and peaceful, no cell phones, no television, no computers, and some may call it rustic. Our group were the only ones staying there and we played board games... More

The people are wonderful and full of information about the area. Family style seating at the meals lets you get to know other guests. I was able to learn about so many things to do in the area and throughout Alberta from fellow guests who have traveled extensively. Very articulate and educated guests and staff. Simple, rustic rooms, extraordinary setting.... More

Very deceiving, I was not impressed at all. The food was double than a restaurant would be and they would have a choice, here you got what they cooked and thats it. Old and out of date, cow bells on the horses ringing at all hours, slamming doors at all hours because doors so stiff. For having no amenities it's... More

Wonderful place with plenty of trails, riding horses, deer running wild just outside your door. It doesn't have all the fancy ‘stuff’ of a big hotel, but was comfortable enough to relax and take advantage of the natural surroundings. Excellent food-homemade-very quiet and peaceful atmosphere away from all the craziness of a big city-very picturesque. Michaela & Daniel-Calgary

I booked this room based on the photos online as I was traveling from Edmonton to Kelowna and wanted an overnight in the country. The reveiws were encouraging so I took a chance. All I wanted was some peace and quiet. The room I was assigned was very dated (not in a good way) and the smell of the room... More

We are repeat visitors to the Black Cat Guest Ranch and each time is different. Each opportunity to visit is an adventure in itself. Even in June , the rainy month, we found lots of things to do. We did get in one trail ride but mostly we used the ranch as a jumpoff point. We visited Miette Hotsprings three... More

This is a little treasure just east of the Jasper Park gates. A place nestled in the valley with plenty of trails, riding horses, deer running wild just outside my door. It doesn't have all the fancy ness of a big hotel, but was comfortable enough to relax and take in the natural surroundings.

My family generally gathers once a year for a 2 night stay at the Black Cat Guest Ranch - we've been there in the summer, fall and most frequently - during Christmas or New Year's. Our group size varies between 10-16 people and this venue is perfect for us. We like to have a couple of days per year to... More

Because we enjoyed our trip the summer before, my hiking club returned for a second visit in July, 2012. A few problems this time, though; First, the spot where we'd camped the year before hadn't been mowed, which mean that the mosquitoes were prolific. Other than that, the location itself was still quite nice. However, when we arrived, we were... More
