Lovely hostel in the middle of nowhere (you probably want a car) but it is absolutely lovely. Great common area and kitchen with a really cosy atmosphere and very warm cottage feel. Dorms are large (16beds) but really spacious and as long as you don't have a loud scorer you should b fine. Clean bathrooms - no hot showers available... More

I loved this place... It's clean, rustic and basic with a fantastic relaxed atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly. The wilderness vibe is brilliant and it's worth the stay for a star lit campfire and great views of the Milky Way. Unforgettable.

We found ourselves in Jasper with a hotel booking due to my error and the Athabasca Falls was the only place we could find on the day. We were a little apprehensive about the 'wilderness' part but overall had an extremely pleasant stay! Cosy cabins, nice beds, very reasonable price and great kitchen, board games and electricity. It was a... More

The couple rented out the whole place for the weekend. The main lodge was very well kept, the drop toilets well maintained and lit up at night. We set up tables outside and strung lights up. The weather was fantastic and we spent most of our time outside chatting, eating and hanging out. Come night time, we cracked a few... More

Be prepare to be in the wilderness, and to have such a wonderful time ! The spirit of this place is unbelievable : I like it so much I wish I could have spent more time here... OK, it was few years ago so maybe the managers changed, but this kind of hostel seems a very good idea to me... More

We stayed here as part of a group tour, we were only there for an afternoon and night before leaving the next morning, but what little time we had there was really special. You do feel as though you are out in the wilderness (well, you kind of are,, but you can still hear the traffic if you listen). Sure... More

we've been coming to this hostel in the last couple years because we love the location of this place and the living area is one of the cosiest I have experienced while hostelling. Our last visit was a huge disappointment though.. We didn't feel all that welcome, the new manager seemed cold and distant, and considered it is all common... More

The rooms are great for the price but if you don't like outdoor toilets and poor excuses for a shower then it probably isn't for you. The managers were absolutely awful, patronising and for the most part seemed to show dislike towards us. We felt unwelcome and unable to enter the common room without feeling like we shouldn't be there.... More

We stayed in this hostel for one night only while on our trip back to Banff from Jasper. We were on a bus trip with a group of tourists. We liked this hostel as it provided a taste of wilderness although with some trace of civilization in what looked like deep forest. It was snowing in the evening when we... More

I think that recent reviews will give you a good idea of this hostel, and I agree with them. My wife and I chose it partly because you can book a private room, and, at our age (60+) we wanted a break from dorm living. The manager who was there on our visit was especially welcoming, and the hostel meet... More
