Looking for something inexpensive, we first had the Comfort Inn booked (across the street). Well we pulled up the street and when we saw that hotel we immediately reconsidered and pulled into the parking lot of the HIE instead. We went inside and found that a room with 2 queen beds was available, so we cancelled our stay at the... more

At the hotel I use to work at, at every christmas party there were draws (which every staff member got something) We got hotel stays at other hotels in Jasper, B.C., Banff, Edmonton, etc. I am from Edmonton and it just so happens that year I won a free nights stay at the Holiday Inn Express. Being from Edmonton, I... more

I booked three rooms 5-6 months in advance for a youth conference. I specified 2 queen beds in each room but upon arrival we were told they only had rooms with 1 queen bed. They implied I made the mistake but the gentleman at the front desk later told me it had been changed a month ago and it didn't... more

Good location for me - near the loft owned by some friends whom I was visiting. Within a block of Jasper Avenue, one of the city's main streets. Has small pool and related facilities. Price quite reasonable for a downtown location in large city and it included a breakfast with hot and cold items. Room included a microwave and bar... more

I stayed here for a long stay (6 nights) with my family due to a job transfer. I found the hotel to be a little oasis in what is a fairly ugly part of downtown Edmonton. Like other reviewers have said, the area is quite seedy with questionable characters walking about. However, I must say that we felt very safe... more

During our trip to Alberta we stayed for two nights in the Holiday Inn Express downtown. We were met at reception by 'Shane' who was one of the most helpful people we encountered on the whole tour. The room was very spacious and comfortable. It was very clean and had a good fitness suite and pool. However, I was disappointed... more

Stayed here for a week with the US Air Force. The rooms were nice and the staff friendly. This hotel, as mentioned in other reviews, is EXTREMELY loud. There is a 2 inch crack under each door that they say is for "heating" and it lets everything in. The cleaning staff starts at 8 oclock sharp and bangs up and... more

My biggest issue with this hotel might not be a problem for some people at all. I like a cooler room to sleep in, and no matter how I set the thermostat, I couldn't achieve a room temperature lower than "charbroil". And this is in November. With the 8th floor patio door wide open. My second issue could happen in... more

I was in Edmonton on business and most of the big name hotels were fully booked so I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. It was very close to where I was working, though not in the nicest part of downtown Edmonton. The hotel itself doesn't present many frills as it is an "express" hotel, but it is adequate. I... more

We got a very good deal on the hotel's website, and stayed here for 2 nights in September. I have to say there isnt much exceptional with the place, but also nothing bad. The parking is very tight, and there aren't alot of spaces. The hotel is clean, and it is conveniently located in downtown. more
