The renovated rooms are really nice and clean with comfortable beds. Staff was helpful and friendly and the meal in the lounge was excellent. Of course, add the entertainment of the Blues Festival and you have a great weekend getaway. Excellent central location to entertainment and shopping.

High end food at most reasonable prices. The visit coincided with the Blues Festival and The Fringe. The vegetables were done to perfection and rank with any establishment that I have had. The food far exceeded expectations. Free breakfasts were excellent. The eggs were slightly disappointing but quite adequate. Having a jam session by the musicians from the Blues Festival... More

Overall great place with excellent hosts and service! Rooms are excellent and offer all the amenities. We had issues with our room lock forcing us to relocate to a somewhat lesser room, however the hotel did comp us back for our trouble. Location is a bit seedy but it was good nonetheless.

Very disappointed, booked in for 2 weeks they first gave me a room with not microwave or Fridge asked to be moved which they did. I was put in a renovated room which the fan in the bathroom did not work, the airconditioner did not work, had to open a window and I got stung while sleeping because there was... More

Be sure to ask for one of the renovated rooms - very nice! Excellent breakfast too but the hotel location is pretty far from any activities. Stayed with teens - no pool and no entertainment of any sort in immediate area. Restaurants sparse too but the hotel food more than makes up for it. Staff very pleasant but the hotel... More

Staff was great but room was terrible. Stains all over the walls. Blankets had crumbs on them. Supposed to be non-smoking but the room reeked! Carpets were stained. There is no choice of rooms, suites, etc. Stayed long enough to book another hotel.

We chose this hotel because we were catching the Canadian train early the next morning. What a surprise this hotel is. The rooms are spacious and immaculate. We had a superb meal in the restaurant and special mention to Tracy our waitress who was very helpful and had a great sense of humour when we chatted about our respective travels!... More

Checked into a smoking room. That is always a mistake. The room we stayed at was filthy so we complained to the front desk. They switched us to another room which was nicer. We asked if there was going to be an additional charge. We were told no. 10 minutes later we received a call from front desk. The room... More

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the train station. Unfortunately, that means it is not proximate to much else in Edmonton, save for the Aviation Museum essentially across the street. Our room is wonderfully appointed, clean, and roomy. The staff is exceptionally helpful and accommodating, even going to far as to allow us to check in 6... More

The Pros: The staff are awesome. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Free Wi-Fi and a decent free breakfast with eggs, real bacon, juice, etc. The Cons: The hotel is dirty. The carpets on the stairwells are worn completely through. Walls have marks, smudges, and grim in different areas. My air conditioner was broken and instead of moving me from the... More
