Despite her vintage the Chateau Lacombe hotel has a great ambiance and vibe. Renovations are ongoing....they're needed. When completed this hotel will be a 'must stay' location in the heart of Edmonton. The staff are all very accommodating and friendly. Location is awesome for a downtown stay. For dinner don't miss the LaRonde restaurant on the 24th floor ....it is... More

On a one night business stay a guest is looking for a comfortable sleep and a good start in the morning. On this topic I wonder if Chateau Lacombe is halfway through an update. My room had beautiful new carpet and wallpaper, but was furnished with worn furniture and what amounted to a king size ironing board to sleep on.... More

This is not a cheap hotel, its in the $150-230 dollar range. I have a standard at $150 a night and the Chateau Lacombe is way below the standard. There were black grease stains were all over the windows and the curtains, my sleeve brushed on of these stains and made it onto my own shirt. The room was not... More

The hotel is older but fairly well maintained. Checking in took over a half an hour as we had a trainee. She avoided eye contact with us and tried to overcharge us but we questioned it and once a manager was called it was figured out. We were very tired from a long drive all night and thought we would... More

Really liked the place, my room wasn't to bad, conformable bed, nice view, big bathroom, really friendly front desk, clean, spacious, and cheap... the only problem again, like 99% of hotels in Canada is the noise fan heating system! Why can't you use standard European radiators? I'll definitely return, if I ever come back to Edmonton! A+

Stayed here for one night. The first room we were given had a bed that was rock hard and it was very warm in the room. I tried to turn the heat down, but the t-stat didn't work. I phoned the front desk and they moved us to a different room, which was better. The bathtub in our room looked... More

Is this place perfect? No. Is it trying to improve? Yes Is it good value for money? I think so. This place is a work in progress as far as I can see. We have stayed here over the last 5 years at least once a year. Mainly for location, amenities, pricing and at one time to collect IGH points.... More

My daughter and I stayed one night on January 14th when we went to Edmonton for the Justin Timberlake concert. We got a pretty good rate and new that the hotel was older but said it had been renovated and the location was good for getting to the concert so chose this hotel. When we arrived we were checked in... More

It has been many years since I stayed at Chateau Lacombe. Originally one of Edmonton's Premium hotels, it fell into the hands of poor and uncaring management and simply declined. All of that appears to be behind this unique property. The welcome is warm and friendly, there is a beehive of activity in the lobby and gathering areas as painters,... More

For a supposed high end hotel we will never go back as has been said several time the room temperature was unbareable we were ready to leave at 3am since neither of us could sleep. 28degrees all night. My wife never sleeps on top of the covers but did this time. Very disappointing anniversary.
