The stellar views of the city and surrounding landscape were overshadowed by the outdated furnishings. The walls along the elevator and hallways needed a scrubbing, brass plates needed polishing, elevator buttons needed replacing, carpets needed a steam cleaning and to be nailed down again... If nicely decorated rooms aren't necessary for you, then you'd probably like the hotel because it... more

I stayed one night on the 23rd floor of this aging hotel The good - spectacular view; my reservation specifically stated river view - reasonably priced on the weekend - central location, it's just a short walk to Churchill Square Arts District (music hall, theatre, library) - lobby has updated furniture and carpet - closet in my room is fairly... more

I stayed at the Chateau Lacombe for a night with my husband and 4-month-old son in a junior suite. I booked it directly through the hotel's telephone booking. Our package included breakfast. I specifically asked if it included breakfast at the hotel's revolving rooftop restaurant, La Ronde (they have a fantastic buffet brunch), and the attendant told me it did,... more

We where so excited to come to Chateau lacombe.. What a disappointment that was.. Our room was not the cleanest ,the bathroom tub had grantite off in places.. About 10.30 an alarm went off we all had to vacate, small fire in the basement .Outside in the cold for over an hour.. We had to run down stairs 11 floors... more

I have to say I was disappointed. The room itself - 2 double beds - was not bad and we chose (and paid extra for) a panaoramic view overlooking the North Saskatchewan. Beds were comfy but the room was tiny. The bathroom reminded me of the 1970s with an ugly little tub and toilet that flushed unenthusiatically. Reception was friendly... more

This hotel is a great value for the price. I enjoyed my stay here for 4 nights while travelling for both business and pleasure. The free Hi-speed internet connection in every room is a great perk! The service was great, the room was clean and the restaurant offered good food. Overall a great experience and I would recommend it. more

I chose to stay at the Chateau Lacombe for my first visit to Edmonton. The location of this property was key to my decision; it being less than a ten minute walk from the Shaw Centre. Not sure if I'd stay here again, though. It was a nice hotel; the rooms were well appointed but the staff were not as... more

I was booked into this hotel on business but would certainly come back again and bring my family. I was very impressed with the friendly and helpful staff, the great downtown location and the care taken to make sure guests feel comfortable and welcome. It's an interesting, circular building with wonderful views of the city. Thank you for a great... more

I stayed at this hotel as I was attending a conference. It wasn't cheap $189 a night, which was the special internet rate. The room was nice, I had a room on the 19th floor, so a good view, even though it was over Edmonton ;>) and being a circular building the shape made for a practical use of space.... more

Honestly, I was very impressed with this hotel at first. We got a room on the 23rd floor without booking in advance. It was reasonably priced and accepted pets. It was however very far from the edmonton mall which was a disappointment. And to add to that, we returned to our truck the next morning to find the window shattered... more
