As expected, this Fairmont hotel is a throwback to elegance and charm. The room was lovely, with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. Good thing, as the trains going by outside my room were a distraction. However, the service & staff were first class. A fruit bowl upon arrival, water, newspaper & free wifi. Little extras... More

We arrived at the hotel at 9:30 am and the front desk staff promised to have our room ready for 12-12:30. We agreed to wait and decided to go explore the city. Got a phone call at 12:30 and the staff said that our room won't be ready until 2 pm. We had an extremely important meeting at 2pm. They... More

Hello Lexey, We are so sorry to hear that your room was not ready upon your expected time. We do our ultimate best to please each and every guest- especially do our housekeepers – they’re some of the hardest working colleagues we have- especially on a night where we’ve been sold out. We guarantee a 3 p.m. check-in and it’s... More

I mean, it is a Fairmont... However, it is good to see the consistency and expectations kept. This place really does have it and and does what it can for any request! Great location in the city as well!

We stayed for two nights at the end of our Rocky Mountaineer tour. The hotel is very grand and the staff were friendly and polite. Well located and handy for restaurants, shopping and the train. The room was big although the bathroom didn't seem to match this. Ate in the bar and it was fine.

Everything from the fellow who took our car to the second we checked out was great. Beautiful, well-maintained hotel in the heart of downtown Calgary. Easy walk to the C-train, shopping and restaurants. Only reason for not giving this 5 stars is that our room was quite small - smaller by far than most of the old CP hotels I... More

I had the pleasure of staying at the Fairmont Palliser while looking for a new residence prior to my move to Calgary. Somehow I was upgraded and provided a room that I'm sure was the same size as my first apartment! The hotel was immaculate, the staff was friendly and polite. The concierge made a great recommendation for a meal... More

This was the last of the Canadian Fairmonts to "check off" my list. I always choose to stay at Fairmonts when available but will not do so on the next trip to Calgary. My room was tiny and tired looking. The wireless was not working and when I phoned the front desk for help I was connected to an automated... More

I have mixed feelings about my stay. First rate was the service-- the staff were wonderful, well versed in the area and eager to help. The facility itself is beautiful and I loved the historic feel of it. Contrary to what others have said, I enjoyed the classic feel and didn't feel that it had suffered, but I do like... More

The elevators conisitently took 5-10 min to become available. There were 4 and it seemed the hotel wasn't that busy. We had a small dog which was told we couldn't have him in the lobby. The room was tiny, everything was generally outdated. The bathroom was small, and the train outside our window quickly woke us up early. We also... More

As an older historic hotel property, I always feel there is a really delicate balance between two extremes: - Worn-out properties that show maybe a bit too much of their history...character in spades, but not much else of positive note - Often relatively recent, carefully renovated places that take advantage of the charm of their historic "bones" yet deliver top-flight...
