My boyfriend and I were in Calgary to attend the wedding reception of our friends, so there was a block of rooms booked at the special rate. When we arrived at the Fairmont, we were greeted immediately by the bell hop and ushered to the front desk to check-in. Check-in was smooth and we were informed of an upgrade to... more

Thanks to you guys, my fellow travellers on Tripadvisor, we got the best out of our stay at the Fairmont Palliser. It was included in a ten-days Ski Canada package we booked through a German agency. We got there in the afternoon and left in the morning. Basically, that's what the Fairmont is perfect for. Beds are comfy, rooms are... more

This is a nice option if you prefer to stay downtown. Calgary is not the easiest city to get around due to traffic and deteriorating roads but this one is actually fairly convenient. You can often get a good rate from their website if you book within a week of your stay. Generally nice rooms, but a bit hit and... more

If you take a look at my photos first, you probably won’t believe this is a Fairmont Hotel. We stayed 2 nts at Fairmont Palliser fr Apr 11 to 13. We arrived late on Friday night (11:30 p.m.) at the Hotel. We self-parked our car & paid $11 ($5 over-night rate Mon - Fri + $6 week-end rate) instead of... more

I have stayed at the Palliser four times between Feb-Mar 2008. The hotel was chosen because I needed a central Calgary location and I was also chasing Premier status with the Fairmont Club. Good central location off 9th Avenue in downtown Calgary. However, driving in downtown Calgary right now is frustrating due to construction blocking off lanes and entire sections... more

Each time we stay at this property we request a room with a normal sized bathroom but still have yet to experience this "luxury". We use Fairmont upgrades and are given a junior suite but oh my,the bathrooms are TINY. The lobby is gorgeous, the bar comfortable and the dining room very good (but expensive). We wouldn't stay anywhere else... more

Stayed 4 nights at Calgary Palisser. Last year I stayed at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver; this room was nicer. Like some say, it's in the style of your grandmother's. Front check-in was very good. I had a queen room. Red carpet, but everything else in muted colours. There's a filled bar fridge and coffemaker. Bathroom is a disappointment, but there are... more

A great historic hotel that was exactly what we were looking for. Close to fantastic shopping, and a decent museum. As to be expected with Fairmont the in house dining options are overpriced, but not to fear we found (on the recommendation of the gracious concierge) an outstanding restaurant on the same street as all the stores (Catch). While the... more

Stayed at the Fairmont for two nights. Went for high floor which was good but room was compact. The hotel is obviously old and you go for these reasons so you cannot expect the highest standard of decor. Breakfast buffet excellent. more

I live in Calgary and every once in a while, my hubby and I book a night away from the kids to get away. We booked our honeymoon at the Palliser and two anniversary nights since we got married. We stayed there in December while attending a friends wedding. While there might be newer hotels in the City, I prefer... more
