Every time ur in a Fairmont, you know it cant never be so bad. The hotels in nice but a little old now. The location is great n the stuff n bells very helpful. My junior suit was comfortable, spacey n clean :) I'll say, if u dont know where else to stay, this one is a very safe choice... more

The Fairmont Palliser in Calgary is the only one of the Fairmont heritage hotels I have seen that cannot be described as putting lipstick on a pig. The reason for this is that while the other Fairmont heritage hotels are beautiful buildings, the Fairmont Palliser in Calgary is an old war torn looking building that reminds me of images of... more

We had a wedding to go to at this hotel, and good a great rate! The feel of this hotel is like royalty. The rooms are small, and very out of date! The pool and workout facilites were top notch. The food was WAY overpriced and the portions were very very small. A side of fruit with breakfast was the... more

Although the Palliser is a grand-looking hotel, it is just too dated to compete with many of the other hotels in Calgary. It relies heavily on the visual traditions of the grand Canadian Railway Hotels, but beyond that nostalgic charm there is little to impress. The rooms are dark and the decor is worn. The staff are extremely hospitable, but... more

I stayed here while on business. This is a typical historic Fairmont Hotel and although not quite as grand as some of its sister hotels, it is still very attractive in the lobby and public areas. My room was large, well appointed, and the amenities were fantastic. The bathroom was large and all built with marble, and fastidiously clean. Staff... more

My husband and I stayed one night at the Palliser. The hotel foyer was beautiful, the room.....well, not so much. They rooms don't look anything like the professional pictures. The furniture and decor are really dated. The beds were clean, but simple. I happened to have a flat screen TV in my room, but I don't think all the rooms... more

Have stayed here a few times, however this trip I noticed a significant difference in quality. Room was clean, but dated. RCA 20" television with cable that went off continually. No flat screen TV's here. Breakfast was average and came to $28 for 1. Taxi from airport was $40. I took CTrain back to airport for $2.50. Station is short... more

Although very $$$$ decided to book at the Palliser as it was across the street from the conference I was attending and being female and alone I wanted to be in an establishment were I felt secure. The public spaces are beautiful, immaculate and in the grand style of the old CPR hotels. However the room I had was in... more

Quite simply, the best hotel i have ever have the pleasure of staying at. Good location, but can be a bit noisy at night from the train station. If you can afford a few extra quid, upgrade to Gold, it's well worth the money. Unforgettable hotel, the most pleasant, helpful staff you could wish for. more

We stay at the Palliser every time we come to Calgary. The service is excellent. We ordered room service twice (breakfast and dinner) and it was delicious. The lobby is very nice, all done in marble, but the Christmas decorations weren't as nice as the Hotel Macdonald's in Edmonton. Upon entering our room, we had a note from the hotel... more
