As advertised, the Hotel Alma is right on the campus of the University of Calgary and most probably caters mostly to visiting academics, parents of UofC students, etc., though by the other comments on TA, ordinary tourists also stay there. The hotel is a very modern building, much like all the other buildings on campus. Only a few floors are... More

First impression yes it looks nice. The rooms are very small. The fitness facility is in the university quite the hike to get there and its VERY busy with University students. But worst of all, I left my Asthma medications on the counter and the cleaning person decided to remove my information from my inhalers. My pharmacy puts the tags... More

Stayed here for four nights with my girlfriend. Originally had it booked for two nights, but the staff were helpful enough to extend the reservation. The apartment was a wonderful place, spacious and extravagant. We were really happy with the cleanliness. The staff could be helpful, although one night the receptionist would not help me when I was locked out... More

I would defiantly stay here again! Hubby and I were travelling fron edmonton to go to Banff for the Labour day long w/e. All hotels in Banff were booked out so we decided to stay in calgary. When we initially booked through hot wire we thought we got a dorm room on the university of calgary campus -I was a... More

We booked this hotel last-minute on our way to Banff. The hotel itself was fine. Clean room, comfy bed, breakfast buffet in the morning and a standard three-star hotel slow bathtub drain. However there were some additional quirks. The location on their site is described as being “at the University of Calgary” which they truly mean. You are literally right... More

For $102.00 and $10.00 for parking it was not worth it. I booked a 2 bedroom apartment through Expedia and the beds were plastic covered twin size mattresses. Breakfast wasn't included because apparently only the 3 top floors are actual hotel and the rest is a university residence converted to hotel for summer. The parkade was over a block away.... More

Amazing breakfast, the beds were a bit too firm for my liking however the rooms themselves were fantastic. Although small, everything was equipped very intelligently for the space. A lot of the people who work in the hotel are hospitality students so they WANT to make your experience top-notch. There were incredibly helpful and accommodating.

I booked the hotel through hotels.com. The cost was $106 for a two bedroom suite. Seemed like a great deal. I was then charged $20 for an extra person....there was 4 of us. The fourth person in a two beadroom suite does not seem like an extra person...but......When I arrived I was charged $10 for parking....and did not receive the... More

We stayed two nights as a family with 3 suites. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The service was friendly and efficient. The price was very reasonable. I booked the rooms through hotwire.com and was a bit skeptical when I realized that the hotel was affiliated with the university. I was pleasantly surprised! The complimentary breakfast was awesome with... More

I've read all of the reviews about how "european" (read: small) the standard rooms are, how impractical (not to mention pretentious) the designer sink is, and how you can hear every noise through the door... all true. It is what it is, but for a short stay in this area of the city, it does the job. With this hotel... More
