We stayed here for two nights and had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is within walking distance to the main attractions in the centre, Calgary generally is very easy to walk around. It's also got a train/tram stop right outside which is very easy to use. The room was clean and comfortable with a great view. Very quiet too.... more

Arrived night before Stampede. Hotel reception quite busy but staff relatively friendly. Room was dated and surface clean/tidy , dont expect pristine deep cleaning. Budget hotel but like most things in life , you pays your money and you makes your choice. Very handy for train system but slightly dodgy looking area next to train stop. Edge of downtown. more

OK so it was the night before stampede but the reception staff were surly and just not interested. The Sandman is not a pleasant place...the good bits first - next to the Calgary rail system so trains and transport all very easy, now scratching my brains for more good points...oh yes the coffee machine did work!...oh yes and there were some scantily clad waitresses which kept me intersted but my wife was not so impressed Other than that... more

Stayed 2 nights 1-2 May 2008. Unlike others we didn't have any problems with this hotel at all, found the room clean and comfortable, bar on the 1st floor was nice, close to the free city light rail. Spotted a few people having trouble withe cards and lifts. I did leave a couple of postcards at reception to be mailed... more
