A nice very centrally located hotel with very helpful staff. The parking was much more reasonable than we had anticipated (especially after we read the some other reviews here) and was only five dollars a day. There was a pool and the restaurant looked lovely but we ate downtown! It was a perfect one night stop over!

We stayed at the Sandman for a night, following arrival in Calgary, prior to driving through the Rockies. The hotel is very well situated to explore downtown Calgary (when I say 'explore', I actually mean 'walk through') and had reasonably priced parking. The room was fine: clean and a good size. The air-con unit was quite dated and had a... More

After a booking mess up at another downtown hotel we wound up here and were quite happy with the results. Pros: The rooms are clean and well maintained. Nice gym and pool (pool deck needs some minor repairs though). Staff were all friendly and accommodating. Quiet A/C units, and super cheap parking on weekends. Cons: Took 7hrs to get someone... More

We came to Calgary for the Stampede and the Sandman more than met our needs. It was close to public transport, Stampede Park and underground parking. Customer service was great. It is an older hotel and even though rooms were a little small it was clean and comfortable. We requested a quieter room and given one on the 14th floor... More

Very central hotel right on the tram line and a really short walk to Stephens avenue and the core shopping centre. Hotel was spacious and clean and staff were very friendly! Parking was a bargain at $5 per night. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked nice. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed there for 2 nights with a Studiosus Group. Very noisy and bad rooms. Air condition made such e noise we could hardly sleep. Personal totally unflexible and disorganized. We would never recommen this hotel, not even for one night. There are better options in Calgary for sure.

Stayed as part of a Rocky Mountaineer package. Poor location. Not really in the city centre. Did not feel safe to walk in this area at night. Lots of construction work going on around. Bog standard city hotel.

Stayed here for two nights and that was more than enough. The location is excellent which is why we selected it. The train is right there and you can walk to lots of restaurants and boutiques and the downtown area. Noisy! When the room next to us used the shower it was crazy loud, and we could also here them... This was the third Sandman hotel we frequented, during a two week stay in Canada. Find it hard to say anything particularly interesting about any of them really. Nice big room, comfortable beds, short walk to down town Calgary. All in all it was as I said pleasant enough. Wifi good, breakfast was nice and all within walking distance to... More
