Let's start with the good: bed is very comfortable. For the most part the rooms are nicely appointed. I love the pool area it's a very attractive layout. The staff have been very friendly, and the two meals I had at the restaurant were fantastic. Downtown location is quite convenient. Now, the not so good: 4 day stay. Television never... More

Normally big hotels like these are pretty clinical and cool with there guests but I must say this one was very personable. Met with a smile and genuine interest after a long driving day was a pleasant start to a 2 night stay. The room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is well placed in the city if you... More

Having always, where possible, stayed at a Sandman Hotel, I found this location to be in need of a complete makeover. Granted that it is situated smack in the middle of the city. However, it's condition indicated that it should have been situated outside city-center. My room was poorly kept, needed painting and, the coat hangers were the perfect size... More

This was our first night in Calgary (we arrived this day from Frisco) Our room in the 21th floor was very small, just one Queen-size bed for 2 person, the linen was rived and washed-out. No storage space, bathroom very small. Needs a refurb! Furnishings, carpets, decorating all in desperate need of renovation.

We stayed here for one night but wouldn't recommend it. The room was dark and not well maintained. The base of he bed was larger than the mattress and I kept catching my toe on the corner, could not get TV working and when u rang the desk they promised to send someone up 3/4 of an hour later, I... The hotel itself is average, however during a personally trying four days due to my husbands ill health the staff were exceptional. But as the hotel is situated on crossroads & the main city rail line which is reasonably quiet. The outside is crawling with down & outs, alcoholics & homeless people who accost you for spare change. I felt... More

We stayed here for 4 nights last summer as we were in Calgary to attend the stampede. The hotel is a little dated, but perfectly functional and was a reasonable price compared to others during this time of year. Transport to the Stampede (tram) is just beside it, and you are walking distance to all the restaurant/bar areas that you... More

Stayed for one night at the start of fly drive. One plus is that parking is only 5 dollars at a weekend in a secure underground car park. We booked a twin and got a double so went and got it changed at reception no problem. Room tip-even if you are a couple book a twin as the double room... More

I went in November so it was quite cold. The heater was working, but was loud. Blankets were warm. Room was nice and clean. Location close to University of Calgary, walking distance to shopping malls, restaurants, train, shuttle bus. Pool was nice! Restaurant in the same building was good. A bit expensive even though I had a special. Staff helped... More

Booked by an agent as part of a package trip so a random choice for me not based on any previous review recommendations so i can review with some neutrality. Location - from what I can see not a bad location. Just round the corner from that tram thing and in walking distance of much of Calgary. Room - upgraded... More
