I stayed here for a conference and chose the Sandman for it's location and price. There was a special price for the nights I was planning to stay. I stayed a total of two nights - and thankfully had booked another location for the remaining few nights. It is located across the street from the light rail transit (which is... More

Just came back from a business trip to Calgary - this hotel is conveniently located in the city centre - close to everything. Hotel is a bit dated but has a nice pool and hot tub on the 2nd floor. We got in late on the first night and it was nice to find Moxie's restaurant downstairs - good food.... More

Whilst I stayed here the staff were welcoming and friendly. They always gave us good advice of where to go. The rooms where in a good way and at a very reasonable price for what you received. I would go here again.

Stayed at the hotel as it is the choice for the company. Check-in was great even though it was busy. I was given a room Ron the 6 th floor right across from the ice machines and pop machine. It was a standard queen room, nothing remarkable or notable about it. Location of the room made it noisy. The toiletries... More

There wasn't a whole lot of "special" about this place. Overall, it's in a great location (for the part of the city it's in) for a decent price, but stay somewhere else if you're looking for a more comfortable stay. PROS: Mini-fridge in room (worked well). Location is key for downtown businesses, CORE shopping center, Gardens, University of Calgary, train,... More

Given it's location, the price point of this hotel is very good. I found the service at the hotel to be very good and they were very responsive - they switched my room without question because it was relatively noisy from elevator noise. The beds were very comfortable but the quality of the fit and finish was relatively poor. The... More

I love this location -- it is so close to offices, shopping etc., plus right on the c-train line. I don't mind the homeless people outside -- that's downtown. And no one actually bothered me. I booked a king suite with a kitchen. From the description and the photos I thought it would be a bit bigger than it was.... More

Downtown Calgary are really expensive, so that's the best of the worst. Not to bad located. The staff is pleasant. Room are updatd and would need some upgrade. When to the restaurant hotel (more than once) and the service is not so good. Long to get attention and to get serve.

During the 3 nights I spent in Jan 2014, I got wake up by my neighbours (different each time). Well located in the city on 7th av, the hotel has a pleasant bar, restaurant and room service which serve good food. The staff is also very pleasant. Internet in not so great and the room are ageing so would need... More

If you need a roof over your head, this is fine. If you want cleanliness, comfort and good amenities, this isn't the place for you. Front desk receptionists were friendly, after you get through the drunk and stoned people outside the door. It is a bad part of town. Went for dinner at Moxies upstairs. It was terrible. There was...
