This lodge is a little "strange" but interesting. Very old & in the middle of nowhere. Be ready to carry your bags up lots of stairs. No air-conditioning. Went to bed hot with window open & woke up to snow! The restaurant is ok; they make you put your name on a reservation list even though it's not full. There... More

Spent two nights to attend wedding on the shore of Bow Lake with dinner reception at Num Ti Lodge. The historic lodge is authentic log structure and setting. The staff and service were excellent. The food was also quite good with a nice variety of menu options. You won't find elevators, and in room amenities such as microwaves and refrigerators... More

The Num-Ti-Jah is a three star with an asterisk. Because of it's location in a national park along Bow Lake, they are limited in what they can do to the lodge. We were forewarned that it is rustic at best. Once you know what you're in for, you can enjoy it for it's location and quirkiness. It is perched on... More

I did not stay here, but have stopped here twice for lunch. The gift shop with a small cafe is lovely with incredible views of Bow Lake. I had the buffalo chili and a roast beef sandwich. Not only was it reasonably priced, it was delicious! This is a great alternative to the two other places available on the Icefields... More

Absolutely amazing location.... & there it ends! Greeted by a scruffy young man , who in fairness was polite but said he wasn't sure about our paperwork! A young woman appeared beside him & hovered! Eventually we were allocated our room. Nice view is all I can say. Num Ti Jah is run by a group of 12 ' kids'... More

This place is nothing you would expect. We could not find a place in Lake Louise and info booth recommended this place. Some miles north in the middle of the glaciers. Outstanding. It is a rustic log hotel bur with 5 star cook and menu, comfortable feather beds - comfy cozy and away from all the hustles of the busy... More

I am late in making this review (stayed in July 2014), but the sadness about the state of Num-ti-jah has stayed in my mind. I have stayed in this lovely historic and somewhat quirky lodge off and on for 40 years and always loved it - for the historical character, comfortable (if plain) rooms, friendly staff (the Simpson Family)and the... Unfortunately, we did not consult Tripadvisor before we stayed at this hotel. We found the negative reviews about the hotel to be very true! The manager quoted us a price for our two nights. She changed the rate when we checked out. We paid the bill and then told our bank/credit card issuer about our problem. The bank credited our... More

My husband and I discovered Num-ti-jah in 1980. In 1983 we honeymooned here. It has never been a luxury destination, even when Jimmy Simpson, Jr. and his sweet sister were running it. What it is, is a miracle, hewn out of wilderness and maintained with love and superhuman effort. When the Simpson family let it go, the current owners (20... More

We stayed here one night in the fall of 2014. If you go into this with no expectations whatsoever you might not be as disappointed as we were. We had wanted to stay here for a long time and based on the reviews we read, we thought it was going to be good at the very least. However we were... More
