Know what you are getting into...this is a rustic, historic property with stunning views. It's not a Hilton. The lodge is on the shore of a beautiful lake with glaciers on the surrounding mountains. The staff was friendly and professional. Our room was clean and very basic; there are no TVs or phones in the rooms, and that is fine.... More

. . . .but WHAT A LOCATION! This charming if a bit dowdy old lodge-style hotel is perched at the edge of Bow Lake, a magnificent glacial pool at the foot of the spectacular Canadian Rockies and its glaciers. The hotel dates from the 1950's though it looks like it could've been there much longer. Right off the Icefields Parkway,... More

If the rating for our experience was based upon location only then this would be five out of 5. However, after a three hour drive, on a Friday, at the end of an exhausting working week, the service was terribly disappointing. The view from our "Glacier View Room (booked via Booking.com) was a challenge! as the view of the Crowfoot... More

We only stayed 1 night but could have stayed forever. It is isolated on the shore of Bow Lake. The staff are wonderful. Everything from food to the surrounding countryside is totally magnificent. High quality for the price. Loved loved loved everything about our stay. Would highly recommend it to anyone wanting seclusion and top service.

This lodge is situated in an spectacular location, by the Bow lake. And you pay for this. Despite the prices of the rooms are high, the breakfast in not included in the price and considering that the rooms have no fridge and that you are more than 30 minutes away from Lake Louise at the end you need to include... Num-Ti-Jah Lodge is spectacularly situated on the shores of Bow Lake with a view of Bow falls. Amazing hiking suitable for all levels is available out the front door. Fueled by a "Yum"y breakfast in the rustic dining room you'll be ready to tackle anything. The rooms each have their own character. Ours were large and well set up. The... More

Non refundable booking for 3 days, and they take a $900 credit card swipe upon arrival (have had some runners). No canoes, kayaks for use or rent on Bow lake, despite this being the only attraction for the lodge. The room on ascent to the 3rd floor via creaky dark stairway, and through dorm-like hall with plywood walls and acoustic... More

We are very pleased that you enjoyed your meals in the Elkhorn dining room, although we wish the lodge had met your expectations in other areas. We are working on plans to renovate the lodge, which is a very exciting undertaking! We are looking forward to having the plan approved, hopefully in the next year or two, and seeing those... More

I had read the reviews on tripadvisor before I arrived. I sent an email asking for a quiet room because I am a light sleeper. They gave me room 12 (second floor in the corner away from the generator and kitchen fans). The bed was wonderful. Extremely comfortable and clean. The room itself was rather old and dingy - I... Stayed here for two nights. Bow Lake and the surrounding area are stunning and worth the stay but it will cost you. You're paying for the location plain and simple. The rooms are simple but the beds are comfortable. The walls are very thin but we found most guests were quiet in the evening. The lodge is a bit run... More

Don't get me wrong the natural setting of this lodge on Bow Lake is tremendous and beautiful. That's as good as it gets. The rooms were EXTREMELY overpriced in my opinion. I have never paid that much for a room much less one without any amenities you would expect. Rustic is fine but it should be priced accordingly. No phone,... More

We appreciate your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience here at Num-Ti-Jah was not positive, and wish we'd had a chance to address the issue with your meal while you were here on your stay.
