We spent 2 nights at Skoki and it is very scenic. The Lodge has excellent food and very helpful, friendly staff. We stayed in the Riverside Cabin and it was extremely comfortable. The skiing was great and the trail up is well marked. The staff were great at suggesting areas to ski in and had maps that were helpful. We... More

While I draw the line at sleeping in snow caves, I've had my fair share of experiences in backcountry huts. Skoki Lodge is luxurious in comparison. While it's still outhouse country, catered food, heated cabins, down duvets (heck--beds!), and wine/beer for purchase (no need to pack it in) all make for a lovely backcountry experience. The hut is an 11km... More

This lodge was cozy and comfortable - especially liked the day beds in the lodge for avid readers and the like. The games on hand could use a refreshing as they come in handy if the weather is averse (nice to play a round of something in the cozy lodge). The food was another highlight - healthful, and thoughtfully prepared... More

My wife and I had originally booked a stay at the Sperry Chalet in Glacier National Park (US) for the end of August. Unfortunately, a 30' snow pack and an avalanche closed most of their season - including our reserved time. Fortunately, a quick web search informed us about Skoki Lodge, in time to get one of their last rooms... More

Skokie is all that the others have said above. However, the hiking trails were spectacular in the extreme. We hiked the High Trail to Merlin Lake in a swirling snow squall that turned into a very good storm. Merlin's Castle loomed over us at the lakes, snow on the heather and wild flowers added a sparkle to the day. Deception... More

Katey is a superb hostess and chef. She has assembled a wonderfully kind staff. The Skoki Lodge is a magical place, a short hike from Lake Louise with cabins, the Lodge and camping. Fantastic experience! More

Skoki is 14km from the nearest road - you hike in with everything you need. The lodge itself is a Canadian heritage site and the perfect log cabin. The only electricity is from a couple of solar panels (linked to the fridge for the beer, I think), limited running water and outside loos only. The rooms are small and dark,... More

Stayed a night at the Skoki Lodge at the end of August. The hike in (and out) is about 6.5 miles with the help of the lodge van that drives patrons up the first 2.5 miles from a gate to the trailhead. Also saves about 1000 ft of elevation. Our two days there were punctuated by snow -- unexpected by... More

Just returned from three great nights here...it was our second back country lodge (shadow lake the other)...much more rustic (1930s log-cabin lodge, outhouses, sponge baths), but the hikes were better and more varied...views from deception pass coming in are spectacular...even better to hike out via packer's pass...up stairs carved into a steep rock wall and past two pristine lakes...we also...
