Ah Skoki. What a thrill. An fabulous adventure, coupled with excellent meals, outstanding hospitaliy and great company. How we got there - Skies Vs Snowshoes We snowshoed in and were the only non skiers. There was a variety of ski types used - alpine touring (robust boots and heel lock/unlock bindings), backcountry touring (BC-NNN with slightly wider metal edged skis)... More

The service, food, and setting was amazing. My parents found it really difficult getting there, and our room was a bit small and crowded but overall it was a pretty crazy family bonding experience. There is no cell service but my brother and I coped by playing cards, reading our books and actually socializing. Helpful tips; -Go in the summer... More

We stayed at Skoki over Christmas 2015-2 teenagers and myself . What a wonderful escape - fantastic food hospitable staff and interesting people . Breakfasts and dinners are served family style which allows opportunities for easy conversation and social interactions . Warm cosy and nurturing . Wholeheartedly recommended . Very intimate accommodations in the lodge - I agree with past... More

My husband, 11-year old son and I hiked in on a stormy day in August. The hike is spectacular. We arrived at the lodge, cold and wet, and were greeted with a warm fire, an amazing spread of fresh baked goods, cheese and crackers and hot chicken noodle soup. There was a drying room to hang our wet clothes. We... More

Staying at Skoki Lodge is a unique and rewarding experience. The lodge is well maintained and you feel part of the history as soon as you step through the front door. The hike in was a challenge, but impressive from every angle. I would recommend hiking out through Packer's Pass and past the Skoki Lakes, including close views of the... More

We spent two 'Wonderfall' nights at Skoki Lodge at the end of September 2015. I had visited this National Historic Site on a day trip while backcountry camping in the area in the past and I was thrilled to finally have the opportunity to spend the night. We stayed in the Fossil room, one queen bed, small room, clean sheets,... More

We just spent the weekend (Saturday and Sunday nights) at the Skoki Lodge after hiking in on rainy Saturday followed by a day hike in the steady rain on Sunday. Hospitality at the Lodge was exceptional and the food was unbeatable. The only thing that would have made the weekend perfect would have been the opportunity to warm up after... More

My partner and I hiked to Skoki at the start of July and spent 2 nights. The hike into Skoki was a 12km, fairly mellow but absolutely outstanding hike. The scenery in the back country of Lake Louise is definitely a must see. The staff at Skoki were very welcoming and friendly and the food was incredible. The cabin we... More

The hike in is gorgeous, view after breathtaking view. Love Alberta! Love Canada! Great service and scrumptious meals. The Cabins are very comfortable and met all of our needs. One should be comfortable sharing space with others though (shared dining room table and common area).

There's no doubt that the Alta backcountry hiking experience is absolutely astounding and that Skoki is a unique place. However I left with the feeling that they could do so much more to bring better 'value to the Skoki experience' - especially given the price charged. I wonder IF there is still a daily focus / mindset on 'brand building'...on... More
