Moraine Lake is an absolutely gorgeous spot and makes it worth staying at the Lodge. Pros: Moraine Lake, hiking trails (and guide), naturalist presentation at night, tea time, friendly and enthusiastic employees, fireplace, deluxe cabins, canoeing, view from the dining room. Cons: Hoardes of day-trippers looking up into your room, breakfast buffet for $15 that is no better than a free one at... more

Took my bride here for the first leg of our honeymoon. Trust me, I don't dote on many hotels/lodges. In fact, I think Lake Moraine Lodge would probably receive the only 5 star rating from me of any place we have stayed together. I purchased the "Romance in the Rockies" package which isn't exactly cheap, but WELL WORTH IT! Here... more

We booked the "Romance Package in the Rockies," and the hotel manager and his team went out of their way to ensure we had an exceptional experience. We had a Deluxe King Cabin, which overlooked the lake, and a bottle of chilled champagne was waiting for us to toast the view when we arrived. We enjoyed the wood-burning fireplace every... more

I read a lot of reviews about this lodge and was worried about the price and crowds. However, the room was spectacular, the crowds minimal (we were there at the beginning of the season), the view unparalleled, the service extremely friendly and helpful, and the food sensational. My wife and I spent the majority of our honeymoon at the lodge... more

We found this place through Luxurylink.com and got a special deal on a cabin. it's a drive to get there (an only open seasonally) but well worth it! It was well maintained, quiet and very nice. The rooms were updated, clean and large enough for our comfort (loved the little fireplace area next to the large window overlooking the lake!!)... more

My second stop on a two week tour of Alberta & BC with Canadian friends. We arrived at the Lodge mid-morning having caught the overnight Greyhound from Edmonton, and took a taxi from Lake Louise up to the Lodge (think there used to be a shuttle bus that did the run, but this had apparently been discontinued). We were all... more

My husband and I took a 3 week road trip around the Pacific Northwest and this was the hotel we planned on splurging on (mid-summer rates are astronomical!). We stayed in a Deluxe cabin room with a front row view of the lake. Our stay was for 3 nights and loved, loved, loved this place. The staff was super friendly... more

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon and weren't too sure what to expect at first. You drive for what seems like miles down a rather bendy road and eventually get to the end where the hotel is situated - don't give up, it is there! We arrived a bit too early for check-in so had to wait about... more

This has to be one of the most spectacular settings in the world! It is about 10 miles from Lake Louise on a wonderful turquoise lake with glaciers all around it. Rooms are small, but comfrotable, and have large well equipped bathrooms. Staff is great. Rates (very high) include use of a canoe - DO IT! no prior canoeing experience... more

Stayed here two nights Sept 08 Staff very welcoming, lodge room clean & well furnished with great views of the lake. Moraine Lake is quite busy with visitors during the day but a lot of these are hikers who soon disperse on to the Trails. Larch Valley trail spectacular in September. Steep climb worth the views. Meals in hotel resturant... more
