We'd followed a tip to stay here rather than nearer to the more popular/busy Lake Louise. This truly is a magic location (newly weds come out early evening for photos) and while of course you can visit the lake without staying here, the ability to wander around first and last thing when it's very quiet is a treat. The canoes... More

We decided to treat ourselves to 3 nights at Moraine Lake Lodge as part of our dream holiday to Canada and we are so glad we did. Yes it is expensive but did include breakfast, guided walks and canoe hire. The area is stunning and we had perfect weather when we were there so saw the lake at its best. All... More

This lovely facility is directly on Moraine Lake. The rooms are meticulously styled in "lodge chic". Loved the real wood fireplace which was stocked with wood and ready to light with the matches provided. The bathrooms are adorable from the 3-dimensional wildlife tiles to the bear light sconces. The staff is wonderful and the restaurant was top quality. I would... More

We expected the size of the king cabin to match the internet picture but alas, it is much smaller.. we were surprised at how cramped we felt in the cabin. Beware internet pictures! However, the view is unsurpassed and if you dine at the lodge you are in for a treat. Some of the finest food- well prepared and so... More

Very rustic cabins with beautiful fireplace and view of lake. Loved the room. Very cozy, and nice for couples. The price was hefty, but the experience was definitely above average. Staff were friendly, mainly Canadian and Australian young people there for the summer. The library room is very cozy as well, and afternoon tea was a good experience. They do... More

We stayed two nights here and two at Emerald Lake in nearby BC. We liked both places. Emerald had a king bed and a larger room; Moraine a Queen. Both had fireplaces in the room. We opened the window a bit at Moraine to let out some of the smoke odor from the fireplace. Odor wasn't bad but I'm sensitive... More

Stayed here in July 2014. Fantastic location. Amazingly beautiful scenery and the lake is absolutely beautiful. However the lodge rooms were very small and basic, but clean and comfortable. Restaurant offered little choice and was very expensive. No where else around to eat so I think they took full advantage of this by charging a lot of money for meals.

Of course the main reason for staying at this hotel is because of its location on the lake. The setting is truly stunning. We enjoyed being able to see the lake with ease at various times and light. We stayed in a cabin which are grouped in sets of two attached to each other on a hillside overlooking the lake,... More

This is a lovely lodge on a gorgeous lake. The rooms are upscale, but the lodge still has a "lodgey" feeling. From the huge timbers in the main building to the location on the lake, this was a unique experience. There were guided hikes and naturalist talks in the evenings. Breakfast is included and the food was delicious. Canoes are... More

As it is pretty much the only building on the lake it is unique and the hotel very much reflects that uniqueness with thoughtful design, use of wood and making the best of the views. This place is so much more thoughtfully done than the commercialised Lake Louise. The hotel rooms are nicely furnished with comfortable beds, log fired heating... More
