This is a great, upscale hotel. You cannot see Lake Louise from the hotel, but it is within easy driving distance. We had a second floor room with a view of both the mountains and the cabins behind the main lodge. We did not eat in the fine dining restaurant, which I understand to be the best in the Lake... The Post Hotel is sort of a throwback to an elegant old mountain hotel. Our room was on the "preferred" side, you will want that because the other side is on the parking lot and the train tracks are near. We had a suite...our bedroom was in the "loft"...with a twin downstairs. The loft gets pretty hot (heat rising thing),... More

My family- husband and 2 sons (18 and 21) just spent four dAys at the Post. We all agreed it is our favorite place we ever stayed. They have a great variety of rooms , one of which is the family room we had-- master suite and living room with fireplace and and upstairs room with two beds and full... More

Once again the Post comes through. It is expensive but both hotel and restaurants worth it when compared with others in the area. We did have a problem with a error reporting lack of dairy in an entree but it was handled professionally by the FB manager with her meal compted and wine for all. Although we often enjoy Fairmont... We stayed for two nights on our way to and from another Lodge in the Rockies. The hotel is a European style hotel that has a very cozy feel, yet has all of the amenities of a larger hotel. The hotel has all the hallmarks of a luxury hotel: towels folded just so, comfy linens, Aveda products, a sewing kit... More

My wife picked this hotel out for her father’s 70th birthday celebration and she absolutely hit a home run. Five adults and two children stayed 7/28-7/30 in the L Suites (301 and 302). When we arrived a bellman spontaneously appeared at our SUV and unloaded all of the bags for us. I walked in carrying a backpack and a bag... More

This was our first visit to the Post Hotel . In a word, it was delightful. It has a casual and slightly old fashioned elegance that is very appealing. The bar area has a nice fireplace and a view of the bordering mountain stream. Both the restaurant and the casual pub are excellent. The hotel rooms are not air conditioned... More

Booked this hotel when I could find no other available in the village boundary of Lake Louise in my price range. Lake Louise Chateau is way overpriced to put up with the kind of tourist traffic there and the Deer Lodge is the same right next door to Chateau Louise. The Post Hotel reminds me very much of the hotels in... The Post Hotel is outstanding in every way. From the baggage handlers at the door, to the desk personnel, to the restaurant inside the hotel, to the pub on the grounds. The room is spotlessly clean, with good appointments in the room and in the bathroom. The tub was a zacuzzi which was very nice after a long day's hike... More

We picked the Post Hotel because it is located near Lake Louise, instead of the busy Banff downtown area. Very happy with the decision, overall. The room rate was expensive but it was worth it. Nothing fancy. Low key. Quiet. Liked the swimming pool. Friendly staff. Great location -- within walking distance to the town's grocery store. (The other big... More
