We stayed here because it looked so grand and charming on the OUT side and I wanted to be near Lk. Louise . Front desk help was very condescending; put us up in room 127 - facing the parking lot - for $140.00 plus tax. The Room was teeny; but the bathroom a nice size.We were warned about the plumbing... more

we stayed two nights in this hotel during our trip to lake louise, the hotel was described to us as a character hotel, from a bygone age, (before tv ect), it has the feel of an old frontier hotel. we enjoyed our stay. but once was enough. more

Well, fantastic location - just grotty decor, dirty feel to the place and good job they have poor lighting in the halls. We had upgraded to a Heritage Room - just make sure its not on one of the upper floors, dirty carpet, bath that had been painted white was peeling to reveal pretty blue colour, walls had been touched... more

Hotel really needs to be renovated. It is dreary and hallways smell musty. I stayed in a lodge room and the bathroom had black mildew/mold. See my photos/videos. The only redeeming quality is that it has a good location. more

When I travel, I look forward to a chance to see no news, to check no e-mail, to read, to eat, to relax. The Deer Lodge was perfect for that. Just a short walk from the lake, the Deer Lodge has perhaps the nicest dining room in town, definitely one of the best I have eaten at in a long... more

We thought this hotel was great; lots of charm and character in a brilliant location. We stayed in the Heritage double rooms which were spacious and very comfortable with all the facilities ( hairdryer, safe etc) promised and no soundproofing problems. We were delighted there was no TV . The food in the bar and restaurant was excellent ( we... more

Stayed 04/24 and 04/25 for a business trip in conjunction with an event at the ski hill. Deer Lodge has a nice, cozy feel to it, but as other reviewers have stated, some amenities which I was expecting, and indeed consider almost basic, were not available in my room. Positives - 1) Atmosphere - beautiful old place with great detail... more

We felt right at home from the moment we arrived. The rooms were very clean and inviting. The hotel has an extensive history and we loved taking it all in. We spent our evening sitting in the lounge that was built in 1921. It was so peaceful and relaxing and the staff was very friendly. The beds were very comfortable... more

My husband and I chose Deer Lodge for the location to Lake Louise, the price was in our budget and the outdoor hot tub was a must. The Deer Lodge was what we expected: rustic and charming. We loved the lodge feel - perfect for our Lake Louise Canadian experience. We stayed in the original/older part of the lodge, so,... more

We found the lodge to be fantastic.Yes it was old and it creeked but that is what we went there for.Its rustic charm. All the staff were friendly and could not do enough for you.The food was outstanding with the service... more
