Stayed here for two nights in July. The hotel itself is very rustic and charming -- great history here and gives you the "real feel" of being in an old hunting lodge. Unfortunately the rooms are quite dismal and very small. Not much room to put your stuff, especially in the bathroom; however, the rooms a clean and beds very... More

Yes, great location but no lake view. Deer Lodge is advertised as a historic lodge, sad to say it was tired and somewhat neglected. No lift and third floor room was not ideal. Think Scooby Doo Lodge type property! To cap it off WiFi only worked intermittently and there was ten minute power cut during the evening. We ate in... More

Lake Louise at 5 min. walking distance. Other attractions and trails nearby. We didn't dine at the hotels restaurant and had breakfast at the village bakery. The front side of the lake is very busy (lots of Asian people) but once a few hundred meters along the lakeshore trail it's all peace and quiet. Lots of squirls... Wnfortunately we didn't... More

It seems there may be an inverse relationship between location and service in these Canadian Parks facilities. You can that from the other reviews. Although the service may be somewhat lacking, it really isn't that bad. I guessing people are thinking they are paying for service, when in fact you are really paying for location. If you keep that in... More

when we first seen Deer Lodge we were all thrilled - but on entering the Lodge we found it dated -. We booked in only to be told NO elevators and we were on the 3rd floor. They did have a young bloke on hand to take the bags up the stairs for you but NO one there to help... More

This Hotel has a perfect location for Lake Louise and Maronie, the reception staff were very welcoming and our room was very comfortable. The interior of the Hotel was very strange with dark corridors linking public areas and rooms with lino type floors rather than carpet. Whilst we had a very pleasant dinner (subject of a separate review) the breakfast... More

Deer Lodge looks quaint and pretty from the outside but the photos of the hotel on their webpage are deceiving as it is tired, tatty and badly in need of a good clean with fluff balls on the bedroom floor and dirty surfaces in the bedroom and the dining room. It is in need of refurbishment in the older rooms,... More

1. Little rooms, without : TV, coffee, enough place to put clothes or luggages, air condition or fan, breakfast. 2. Very noisy without option to rest in all the rooms with the window to the internal garden (noise of the tourists' trolleys). 3. Noise from the water's heating system each time that someone open the hot water. 4. Little beds.... More

Arrived at hotel after 9hr coach ride from Jasper due to forest fire. The staff could not have been more helpful, even opened the bar up for us. Room was comfortable though strange without both T.V. and Radio, but oh so peaceful. Five minutes walk away from Lake Louise which is absolutely spectacular. Get up early to get the great... More

charming place from the outside. the rooms are simple but clean, nothing special. wifi only works in the common areas which apparently reception has not been made aware of. the ladies at the front couldn't care less: told us there was no reservation was required for the restaurant and we ended up waiting for an hour until we got a...
