Stayed here just 1 night. It has great charm and is not as basic as some reviews would have you believe. Had a room with a balcony which was very clean and a good size. Had dinner elsewhere but breakfast was good and very attentive staff. Bar staff were also very good. Very very close to lake louise so great... More

Stayed here in august 2014. Loved it. The hot tub on the roof was glorious. Staff hugely helpful, especially when dealing with requests for gluten free food. The hotel was full of character, no tv's. Perhaps not to everyone's taste but we loved the quirkiness of it. Location great 1 min from Lake Louise.

Don't judge a book by its' cover! I admit, I was very worried about what I'd gotten myself into whenI got to my room. Very, very basic aaccommodation. Dinner at the attached restaurant was fantastic. Surprisingly I had a very good nights' sleep - and that's all I needed - a roof over my head for the night, none of... More

Where do I begin. The staff on reception were very unwelcoming and rude, need to go to charm school. Our booking form stated we could book in from 3.00pm-4.00pm. The room was not ready until 4.15pm. When we got to our room we were disgusted. It was so small you could hardly get your cases in. Wallpaper coming off wall,... More

If staying close to Lake Louise is a priority, Deer Lodge is a great choice. While the rooms are rustic and basic (read: tiny and no frills), the true value in this hotel is in its location. We loved that we could walk to Lake Louise at dusk and have the place to ourselves without having to stay at the... More

This place is trading on its location and is expensive for what you get. The premises are old but not charming and in need of a really BIG renovation. This is the first time in 20 years I have stayed in a room without a hairdryer!!! The rooms are so basic it is like being in a hostel. The downstairs... More

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in my whole trip to Canada which is so disappointing as I was expecting it to be the nicest based on the location and price! Our attic bedroom was the size of a cardboard box, bearly enough room for our suitcases. It was so dark, cramped and stuffy! The bed had this... More

This lodge has the basic comforts plus a hot tub and restaurant with fine dining. The staff was very friendly. Be warned, the accommodations in the room are not updated, far from luxury. However, we thought this was an acceptable trade off for being so close to the lake and hiking trails with a more affordable price than the Fairmont.

I should have read the TripAdvisor reviews, sorry that I did not. Evidently, there is a wing of this hotel where the rooms have been renovated, we stayed in the rooms that were not renovated. Location, location, if not for Lake Louise just down the street this dump would not be in business. Rooms are cramped, with little space for... More

The only thing this place has in its favour is the parking space during busy tourist times as you can walk easily to Lake Louise. The rooms are dated, way overpriced, smelly, tiny, outdated, no space for suitcases, wifi does not work, pathetic bathroom facilities and walls and ceilings paper thin. Meal at the bar restaurant and service was good... More
