We spent two nights at this lovely, old lodge. We did stay in the new section and had a lovely large room overlooking the mountains. Yes, the bathroom was small, but clean. I did take a look in the rooms in the older section and was definitely glad we selected the newer part of the lodge. We had two delicious... more

The description of a W"De Luxe Tower room" sounded quirky and different but the reality was a very small garret with heating you could not turn off, grubby bathroom with loads of mould and very little de luxe feel at all. A few days vbefore our departure we were invited to upgrade our accommodation by Deer Lodge but as we... more

We were looking forward to our stay especially with looking at the official website, and we got a great deal on the internet. But it was expensive for what we got - a box room big enough for a bed, no tea and coffee making facilities, dull depressing decor, badly lit corridors. Our room had tiny windows which barely let... more

We stayed here for 2 nights and wished we hadn't bothered. The room was small as was the bathroom. There was no air conditioning and no television or tea and coffee making facilities. After a long journey we wanted a cup of tea. No complimentary tea or coffee until 7am in the morning and then finished at 11am. Had a... more

This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. The first time was in the Tower room and even though it wasnt as large as the Heritage room it was in the older part of the hotel and had much more character. The meals are amazing as the company that owns this has several restaurants and hotels and... more

This small hotel is not the fanciest but it does have a lot of character, free wireless internet, an amazing chef working in their restaurant, kind staff and is well within walking distance of Lake Louise. The accomodation is quite basic but, that said, the cosy common areas are decorated with many historical items and photos about Lake Louise. In... more

I agree with other visitors reviews of Deer Lodge. The word "dreary" comes first to mind, perhaps because of the musty smell and too-small rooms. I stayed here 20 years ago with my wife and the hotel has gone downhill considerably since then, unlike Chateau Lake Louise which has been constantly upgraded (see my review; we stayed at both properties).... more

It’s got the old lodge charm, very friendly staff, very good restaurant. Best of all is the open air hot tub. It’s big, the water is 40 degree Celsius warm and you get a nice mountain view. Some rooms are a bit small (and dusty), but we knew that in advance so it was no problem. Good wireless internet connection.... more

Upon arrival I was advised had a free upgrade to superior double room (fantastic I thought!) only the room was VERY disappointing. The room was VERY small (just about managed with 2 people and 2 cases), very hot/stuffy, noisey and by the car park. I dread to think what the standard double that I originally booked would have been like.... more

We stayed here because it looked so grand and charming on the OUT side and I wanted to be near Lk. Louise . Front desk help was very condescending; put us up in room 127 - facing the parking lot - for $140.00 plus tax. The Room was teeny; but the bathroom a nice size.We were warned about the plumbing... more
