I stayed here two nights during a 17-day trip around Alberta in late July. (Would have stayed all three I was in Banff, but even a couple months in advance, the third night was already full, so had to use another property for that third night.) The house was built 1907, so it has some of that charm and character... More

This was such a delightful place! We had a simply decorated room with our own bathroom - which was lovely. The bed was very comfortable! The breakfast was delicious and had a combination of cold cereals and then always some delicious special hot breakfast :) Robyn was so friendly and chatty, she gave us local tips, told us stories and... We stayed here during a long weekend and loved it! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are shared but are very clean and well-maintained; I never had to wait to use them. Tasty hot breakfast, comfortable beds, convenient in-room sink, free parking and wifi. The house is on a quiet residential street while still being very central. There... More

A pleasant and conveniently located B&B, but the top floor needed air con given an outside temperature of 30 deg C. Had a ceiling fan in the main room (which had twin beds) but only a stand alone fan in the bedroom ( double bed). Even with all the widows open ( built in mosie nets) the rooms took ages... More

On our recent trip to Banff, in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, we had the privilege of staying at the Rocky Mountain Bed & Breakfast for two weeks. Robyn and Rob own/manage the B&B, and Sara is the Assistant Manager. The rooms fully met our needs. The food and friendliness of the staff were outstanding. They made wonderful breakfasts that were... More

Our extended family (5 adults) spent 4 nights here in July and found it a wonderful base for driving and hiking in the mountains. Host Robyn and employees Sarah and Kate were eager and helpful in directing us to the best drives, local restaurants, and shops. Robyn is a licensed massage therapist which was another real plus. Host Rob is... More

Rob and Robyn, the owners are pleased to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfasts were good, and if you deceide to have an evening meal, which you have to order in the morning, you will not be disappointed. Rob is a highly qualified chef. Robyn is as stated friendly and helful. The building is not airconditioned, and the... More

A lovely old building with ten rooms spread over four floors, it is cosy, very well maintained and clean. Close to downtown Banff in a quiet location with mountain views. Adequate parking. Comfortable bed, quite roomy and free wifi. The host was friendly and very helpful. And to top it off, there was a marvellous breakfast. We have no hesitation... More

We are a gay couple and we stayed here for 2 weeks in the beginning of June. The house is only a few minutes walk in to the centre of Banff, but on a quiet residential street. We had room 7. It was a lot bigger than we thought and was ideal for our stay. It had fridge, microwave, sink,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are an intimate high-country inn situated three blocks east of Banff Avenue on Otter Street in a quiet residential neighbourhood. The building dates from 1918 and has 10 guest rooms and a gorgeous main lounge and dining room. We are the only B and B Inn in Banff to still serve a hot breakfast! We use excellent ingredients, serve locally roasted organic coffee and vary our menu daily. This historic mountain home is warm and spacious. It was used extensively in the '30s by CPR work crews as a boarding house. For the following forty years it was known as Douglas House and served as tourist accommodation. The Inn was fully restored in the late '80s and has had recent renovations to maintain its original character and substantial mountain charm. We have four suites, which suit small families, as well as simple and elegant double rooms. Our dining room and lounge are open to guest use during the day and there is a television in the lounge. We have private off-street parking to accommodate guests with vehicles. However, once you are in Banff many activities and walks are accessible by foot from the B&B. ... more   less
