We had booked at the Driftwood Inn for 3 days (Aug 13 to 16 2014) but ended up in this sister property because of the overbooking practice. Among the 7 hotels we stayed during this trip from Calgary to Vancouver, this was the most disappointing one. While we did not have high expectations, the basement level appartment we were given... For a full apartment, in the peak of summer- it was cheap. For a reason. As everyone says- it is old and in need of renovation. It was clean (as clean as a very old apartment could get) and it is an old wooden building that the noise echoes around in. The beds for guests 3+ was a not so... More

Very disappointed at the general cleanliness appearance and comfort level. I knew we weren't getting four star accommodation, but I wasn't expecting the place to be so beat-up and unloved. Location is good, but it fails in every other respect. Beware if you are bringing family here and have any personal quality standards.

We were only staying the night on Banff and needed a place with 1 or 2br and places in Banff can be pricey. This was the only place available within our budget. It still wasn't super cheap but from the photos of the room, I expected a clean place at the very least. It was somewhat clean but the whole... More

We arrived late on the Rocky Mountaineer (after 10 pm) check in was at the Banff Ptarmigan Inn. We had a top story two bedroom apartment which was fairly quiet. The stairwell was quite shabby and a bit off putting, and although the furnishing and carpet are dated the apartment was clean and well equipped. The bathroom was great and... More

Stayed over this past weekend. Had a one bedroom queen room - the apartment was dirty, with mold in the bathroom and hair in all the corners, the shower curtain had mold/mildew and was stained red at the bottom. All night there was noise from the building and from the street outside, we could barely sleep a wink. Luckily our... More

This place is in a nice central location. There were 5 of us that stayed there and the place was HUGE. For the cost per person, I don't think you can get a better deal. It was only slightly more expensive than the hostel in town....and then it's just our hostel, don't have to worry about the other people. It... More

This was booked last minute as we toured the Rockies. Having read some of the reviews we have to say we really liked it. Loads of room for 2 people, 5 minute walk into town and being able to cook helped keep the costs down. Downside is the floors are thin so people walking around above you can wake you... More

We had a 1-bedroom apt in Rundle Manor for the GranFondo weekend - stayed three nights. While the decor may be dated, the unit was CLEAN, well stocked and had a very comfortable bed. If you are looking to be pampered - this isn't the place. But if you want practical accommodation, CLOSE to everything in Banff townsite, the Rundle... More
