I stayed there with some friends for one night. We re not the type of guys who break things and do noises. The idea was stay day and made a BBQ and a chill out. But the guy who work there was so mean. He was the whole day following us, saying what we can do, what we was doing... More

For some reason I managed to stay in most of the other hostels along the Parkway (Lake Louise, Mosquito Creek, Hilda Creek, Edith Cavell), but never this one. We stayed as a group through the Alpine Club of Canada and I will most definitely be back. This hostel isn't like the other wilderness hostels for it offers hot showers, real... More

Rustic feeling cabin near Castle Mountain junction. There were basically max 4 guests at a time for the month of May. The dorms were big but felt cramped (especially the boys when I saw the sleeping quarters for my boyfriend). They were very strict about boys and girls not entering the other rooms which I felt was kind of childish... More

Spent 3 nights here as a base to explore Banff/lake Louise/lake moraine and do some hiking. The hostel was spotless, warm, well organized and the manager Tony is a delight :) we felt welcome the instant we walked in the door and Tony gave us plenty of great advice for things around the Banff area. Loved the central fireplace in... More

Given the price paid, I can highly recommend you this hostel, which is beautifully located in the Lake Louise area. Even if it is classified officially as a "wilderness" structure, it offers running water and hot showers. The kitchen is provided with everything needed even when the hostel is full, the common spaces are nice and cozy, the owner is... More

Lake Louise is arguably the most beautiful location on earth. The hiking around Lake Louise, especially Yoho National Park and near Bow Summit doesn't get better. Where to stay? Well, is you're not set up for camping but want an economical choice to those 200 dollar rooms in Banff-LL try hosteling. Hosteling International has two big, busy, well equipped hostels... More

This place is great. The manager, Tony, is very friendly. Bunks are comfortable! Even though this is officially classified as a wilderness hostel by Hostelling International - it isn't the normal wilderness hostel. The place has been renovated recently and has full facilities: kitchen, flushable toilets, showers, and laundry. No Internet. I would recommend staying here to anyone passing through.
