We had a great stay here. This not-for-profit hostel/hotel run by the YWCA is in the old hospital building, so it is quite a large complex. There are dormitories on the lower floors as well as a self service kitchen, lounge room and laundry. The private rooms are on the upper floors. Our room was quite large, very clean although... More

If you are someone looking for a hotel with lots of facilities then this is not the place to stay. If you are looking for somewhere to just sleep, be able to have a shower and easily walk into banff that is cheap this is a great place. The room was clean, with a fairly decent bed and bedding, the... More

Thanks Waterfem for taking the time to review your stay with us. As you correctly identified our properties great advantages are the affordable price of rooms & it's downtown location close to Banff Avenue. Plus we're right next to the new pedestrian bridge across the Bow River. We've just finished a major room upgrade, so the hallways are next on... More

I stayed in the lodge for the family weekend with a few friends in the private rooms. I found my room was okay apart from there is no kettle and the light switches were out side the room banked together with next doors so if you have a idiot next door he keeps switching yours on by mistake. Not the... More

Do not be fooled by the website title 'hotel and hostel;' this is definitely more of a hostel. My husband and I arrived for a weekend getaway, after booking this 'hotel' for a special weekend rate. The first room that we were assigned to was quite plain - just a bed and a chair. However, the clock radio was completely... More

I have been staying with the Banff Y Mountain Lodge for almost 3 weeks now and have found it, from the very beginning, to be a very comfortable and inviting environment. The staff make you feel right at home. The Breakfast upgrade for $5 is incredible, actually some of the best Inn/Hotel breakfast i have had in a long time.... More

Stayed at the lodge for a weekend and ended up extending my stay until the following Thursday. After reading some mixed reviews I wasn't too sure what to expect, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Decent shower, comfortable beds, free wifi and five bucks for a delicious hot breakfast was an added bonus. Staff was pleasant, helpful and... More

We stayed Oct. 27. Our hostel was close to down town and had a group room with a bathroom, and there were female only rooms. All bedding was supplied, but the room and kitchen could be a little cleaner.

Hi Sarah G, Thanks for reviewing your recent 'Girl Guide' trip at The Banff Y Mountain Lodge. Thrilled to hear that your group enjoyed their stay with us within our female only rooms. Banff Y mountain Lodge is hostel-style with a kitchen and a laundry room. We had a family room without private bathroom. The room was kind of small, but OK for us. The public bathroom on the 2nd floor was very clean and comfortable though. The kitchen has about 4 stoves, but kind of small for a lodge with a size... More

Our downtown location is definitely one of our biggest selling points, as... More

I've stayed here on a few other occasions and until now had no problems.
