It has everything you need, the room was fairly clean, breakfast and lunch are good but incredibly slow service! The location is great, just out of the centre of town but within 3 minutes of walking you'll be in the centre of town. The staff was nice but the wifi wasn't working well during the day, only in the morning... More

Had to check out at 2am because we found bugs (fleas/bed bugs?) in our bed. The front desk was totally unhelpful, the supervisor I spoke to the next day was even more useless, and they did not sound surprised when I told them about the bugs. Disgusted and traumatized.

This hostel doesn't provide any free breakfast for the high price, the staff is OK but not able to provide you the right sheets to make your bed and not particularly welcoming in general. The building looks old and needs a serious refresh. Moreover, what's missing here is a warmful common room where you can spend time and meet other... More

Last week we went to this lodge and we were very disappointed, the building looked on the outside very nice but inside it looked like a hospital. The rooms doesn't have a washroom and shower in it so you have to go outside your room for going to the toilet or shower and hope to be lucky you don't have to wait... The room was clean and perfectly ok as a place to sleep, and considering it was the middle of the summer and the town was almost full the price was decent. However for over $150 a night for a private room I was a bit disappointed that there was no TV, no Coffee Maker, No Hair dryer, not even a... More

We recently stayed four nights at the Banff Y Mountain Lodge. Chosen due to it's ideal location to the city centre and scenic position, the Lodge proved a great accommodation package. Taking the lowest standard room we were more than happy with our accommodation. A bedroom with bathroom facilities down the hallway, the room was fresh and clean with a... More

Unless you're 20 and want to be loud and not sleep, do not stay here. I'm 35 and have stayed in dozens and dozens of hostels and this one is very disappointing. I'm not on a budget but decided to book here because I enjoy the traveling feel of hostels and meeting new people. I've cancelled my other days and... More

Thankyou to the staff at the Y Banff. You made our stay very welcome. Super friendly. Special thanks to KENDRA at reception. She went beyond her duty to help two Aussies organise accommodation. A million blessings dear heart. Karma comes around. Also to the chef...and waitress...a happy mob, many thanks for great food. Kathy and Greg, Sunshine Coast, Queensland

The Banff Y mountain lodge was noisy with paper thin walls. When the shower next door was being used it was so loud you could not talk, sleep, or concentrate. The halls were often noisy too, but quieted down at night. The room was very hot with no ventilation even though there was a small window and the weather was... More

If you are going to spend your most time on exploring Banff or Rockies Mountains instead of staying in the room, this hotel is your good choice. Facilities are simple but clean and comfort enough. You can have a good sleep and short rest in between your sightseeing activities. Staffs are friendly and location is perfect for everything. Good choice... More
