We were looking for a romantic, rustic cabin in the woods with a woodburning fireplace and meals available if we wanted them. We were delighted with Storm Mountain Lodge on all counts. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer. We enjoyed hiking the trails; the fresh snow had been tramped down by snowshoers so we had a wonderful... more

We were originally booked for four nights, but left after three. We would have left earlier if we could have done so. First of all, believe it when they say "rustic". Even after their renovations. The property is not as isolated as you might think. It is just off and above route 93 to British Columbia and you do hear... more

Great cabin decor-- rustic, sweet, very clean & comfortable. It was perfect to return to after a day of hiking. For warmth & atmosphere, my husband kept a fire burning in the old stone fireplace, whenever we were around (although there is a good room heater too). It would be even better if there were chairs for reading by the... more

We absolutely loved this place. The staff in the main lodge are very friendly and the lodge itself is a quaint cabin with some unique items for sale and a small collection of tables for dinner. We had the bison tenderloin for dinner which was by far the most enjoyable piece of meat I had ever had to eat. The... more

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend get-a-way. We loved our quaint cabin and expecially that there was no radio, tv, phone, or any other distraction. It was peaceful, restful and wonderful! The claw-foot tub was great, although it does take a while to fill. We ate the breakfast provided for guests and were overwhelmed. The cranberry scones... more

The cabin, built in 1922, are very well maintained and clean. There was a functioning fire place that we used all four nights of our stay. The cabin was perfect for a couple on a romantic vacation. It had a rustic feel what was essentially for hiking vacation. Centrally located in Banff National Park, it was easy to reach other... more

Anyone who appreciates a fine historical and beautiful setting with excellent dinners, friendly staff and cozy fireplaces will love Storm Mountain Lodge. Our cabin was perfect, comfortable bed, decent size bathroom, little sitting area near the fireplace. The Lodge provides everything you need to build a fire, which we did every night because it really got cold, even for August.... more

Storm Mtn has cozy cabins (some with kitchens) and a restaurant. Location is optimal for those seeking to avoid the crowds of Lake Louise and Banff and who want to hike on nearby trails. Hiking was amazing. Cabin was small but very comfortable. Ours lacked a kitchen because a huge family had booked several kitchen equipped cabins before us. This... more

We absolutely loved our recent 4-night stay at Storm Mountain Lodge. This is a rustic environment. We chose it not as a luxury destination, but because of its central location positioned between Banff, Lake Louise, and Lake O'Hara. We were pleasantly surprised, however, to find a world-class chef working at the lodge. The two meals we enjoyed there were just... more

The cabin was very dusty when we arrived and had a terribly strong woodsmoke odor. The youong woman at the front desk said that it had rained the day before and that is the result. They were nice enough to give us some candles but we were there for 6 nights and the smell never dissapated. The breakfast food was... more
