Who are these poeple who are so negative about this hotel. It is excellent; the staff are great; the rooms are fine. In fact all facilities are ok. Don't be put off by the moaners and groaners.

We stayed 2 nights here. The hotel was on the main street, a short walk into the centre of town or there was a free bus. Our room was on the ground floor and was quite 'compact'. It had 2 very comfortable queen size beds a few drawers, a small table and 2 chairs and a shower room. There were... More

The Hotel lobby is ok but it did puzzle us to see the log fire on early in the morning when the temperature averaged 33C for our 3 nights stay in July. The lack of AC was slightly annoying but there was a fan. The wifi did not work in our room(4128) which loked over the internal courtyard. The room... More

We arrived at noon and was sent away and was told "the rooms are not ready yet". When we returned at 7pm, they gave us a room that was half underground, a basement room! I have never heard that any hotel can rent out a basement room! You can just feel the chill on your knees when you entered the... More

Guaranteed check in time at the Caribou Lodge & Spa is 4pm. If we can check you in earlier, we will happily do so, but if rooms are not yet clean, then we cannot provide this added service. The rooms / amenities in our hotel are primarily the same, regardless of the type of room you book. When booking and... More

I was outraged that when we checked out the front desk attendant actually went to see the room before giving us back the deposit. This has never happened to us neither in Canada nor in Europe. It was extremely rude to be treated like that for $190 per night. Then she asked us whether we wanted our deposit in cash... More

It is standard hotel practice to either hold a credit card number or take a cash deposit upon check in as a precaution against potential damages to the hotel room during a guest stay. With this in mind, it would defeat the purpose of the deposit to return it without first checking the room for damages. That said, it is... More

We got a good rate for a standard king room ($139 per night) with just one week's notice. The room was nice.... it wasn't luxurious, but had a clean bathroom, coffeemaker, tv, etc, and was roomy. Note that if it's hot, there isn't central air in the room, although it rarely is hot at night in the mountains. Desk personnel... More

My husband, my daughter and I checked into a room with two queen beds. It was quite late when we were going to bed and we discovered that even touching one of the beds caused it to rattle and squeak beyond belief. I got dressed and went to reception and after a battle we were given an alternate room which... More

After staying at the Banff Caribou Lodge, I am extremely surprised that it is still currently rated #3 of hotels in Banff. It was this rating that actually enticed us to book here. What a waste of money! When you walk into the hotel, the lobby is beautiful - do not let it fool you! Our hotel was $184 for... More

We decided to book at the Caribou Lodge after reading the reviews here. We booked for 3 nights in the summer of 2009 (July-August). The personnel is very courteous, however the overall level of quality was terrible for a 200$/night hotel. - No A/C in the rooms. We found a small fan in the closet, but no A/C. This is... More
