We stayed at this resort for five days in September. We absolutely loved it's rustic atmosphere, staff, food and scenery. Our cabin was a "Two Person Classic Bungalow" and it was everything we hoped for - comfortable, clean and cozy. We had both a gas and wood burning fireplace. Our first night we had trouble starting the gas fireplace but... more

Spent the last 3 days of our honemoon at Johnston (first 3 days at Beckers in Jasper). Our first impression on walking into the room was that it smelled smokey. Well, that's because the fireplace puts as much smoke into the room as it does up the chimney. Our only attempt at a fire was quickly doused and the doors... more

An evening arrival to my "Fireside Bungalow" was quite inviting. Lights inside the cottage gave a pleasing view of the interior as I approached. The cottage was tastefully decorated, clean, and tidy. The area is peaceful and surrounded by forest. The price is most reasonable for the Banff area. Parking is available next to your cottage for passenger cars. Larger... more

We stayed at Johnston Canyon for four nights recently in Sept. 2007. Our first problem occurred in the coffee shop, where undercooked fish was served to us, and when we complained, the waitress told us she had talked to the cook who said the fish was perfectly cooked. Also, since we had eaten part of the fish, we would have... more

We stayed at the Johnston Canyon Resort from September 1-4, 2007 which we booked via the hotel website about 2 months ago. First of all, it was easy to find and the views from the place were beautiful. Check-in was painless and very friendly. We were in cabin 14A which is a duplex bungalow unit. This bungalow unit has a... more

nestled in the heart of the Rockies, amidst pine trees and squirrels, we dwelled into a fireplace cottage for 3 nights. How brilliant! surrounded by nature, very peaceful, albeit the cracking of the wood in the hearth, we enjoyed having drinks on the terrace. It's Brokeback Mountain! same scenery! same decoration in the house...as if time had stopped for a... more

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of August 2007. We hired a small cabin - number 34- which is along the back row of cabins - furthest from the car park and in a quiet location. The cabin was quite basic - a double bed, small table with two chairs, TV, fridge, tea/coffee maker, log burner and... more

Stayed here for two nights in June. Room was comfy, homely, clean and spacious. Location was great, staff very helpful. Cafe next to shop was cheap and very cheerful. Restaurant was also very good. Walked to upper and lower waterfalls - Highly recommended but go early in the morning to beat the crowds. We went at 7am and had the... more

We had a wonderful stay at Johnston Canyon Resort! Nice spot. Great setting. The hike to the lower falls, upper falls and the ink pots was fantastic. Great trail!! The weather was fine too. We were in 7 and 7a. We really liked both and probably enjoyed 7a even more. We will recommend Johnston Canyon to our friends and hope... more

I just wanted to say how happy we were with the facilities, the cabin was wonderful! We had a nice anniversary getaway, and things couldn't have gone smoother. The hike was especially pleasant and the crew were most helpful. The Cabin decor created a very heritage style ambiance. We will be sure to be back next year, and tell our... more
