We were planning our itinerary to stay in Banff National Park. The choices were a bit challenging as we did not know the area well. We saw some good reviews about Johnston Canyon and decided to book it for June. We found the location excellent. The weather was rather pleasant. The service was great and the staff were very helpful.... more

Our cabin was clean and well laid out and the location was great. The October colours were amazing. The front desk people said it was a warmer than ususal fall which they believe gave a richer color than normal for that time of the year. The Dinner in Bridges restaurant was excellent. We had the sizzling trout on the platter.... more

Thank heaven we found a place that has only nonsmoking rooms. My partner is highly sensitive to cigarrette smoke so it was refreshing to have a mountain experience without the smoke. Some of places we stayed at said no smoking but you could still smell it. The cabin was clean and housekeeping was generally good. Some days a bit mixed.... more

We finally headed out of the big city of Calgary after our stay there to finally arrive in the Rockies. The location is amazing. We realised very quickly we could get to Banff or Lake Louise without the hassle of the busy transcanada. The construction on the west side of the highway was dusty and annoying. We were grateful that... more

The hike to falls right next to Resort is amazing. We counted 7 waterfalls and was told that the highest ones almost 100 feet had a crazy kayaker go over them a few years ago and survived! It was actually a warm sunny day considering the time of the year and the icing on the cake was the icecream at... more

Our trip was cut short due to unforseen circumstances. We wanted to do the whole rockies circuit this time round. We checked into cabin 10 for the 4 of us which was an excellent location overlooking the creek. The cabin was clean and well layed out. The running water was soothing after a long hike up to Lake Agnes and... more

Spent an evening in 4 person Classic Bungalow with the wife and kids. Walked the canyon in the morning and then settled in for dinner and an overnight. The Canyon is spectacular, first time for my kids, they loved it. Just an amazing place really. Dinner at the resort restaurant was very good, and service was good as well. My... more

As soon as I opened the door, I loved the little one room cabin. Personally, for me, it would have been a little crowded for two people, but for me, it was perfect. Since the cabins are located between Banff and Lake Louise, I was thrilled that there was a restaurant on site serving breakfast. I wasn't overly impressed with... more

Our final run in the Rockies landed us at Johnston Canyon Resort. We found it driving down the Bow Valley Parkway. We were tired from a long drive from Jasper and decided to check it out. The check in desk is unique as it has an old gas pump from the 50s on the out side. Some people were takeing... more

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at this little resort. It's a great location between Banff and Lake Louise and the hike up the Canyon is really nice. We had a Fireplace Cabin. Cozy furnishings, fireplace worked great, front desk very friendly. The cleaning staff seemed to be all teenagers on vacation and I wouldn't say they did a... more
