The Homestead Inn is a basic hotel located just two blocks from the main shopping area in Banff. There are no elevators and the walls are very, very thin. You can hear people lugging heavy suitcases up the stairs all night and down the stairs early in the morning...and you will do your own lugging if your room is not... more

We stayed here for 2 nights in September. The motel-style room was on the 2nd floor and there's no elevator, but that wasn't a big deal. Hotel is really a motel. It is central and clean but basic. Kept awake all night by people moving around in the room above-sound insulation was extremely poor.
