The hotel is centrally located to downtown Banff, but far enough off the main street (2 blocks) so that it’s not noisy. The best part of it is that the shuttle pick up for the ski resorts is at the hotel right across the street – so no trudging a mile back to your room after a long day on... more

I found this hotel on Trip Advisor for my ski weekend in Banff & Lake Louise over the Family Day Long weekend. I stayed for three nights and for $99 per nite it was a great hotel for my needs, and saved me a few dollars in accomodations in the process. I ate most of my meals at Melissa's next... more

Stayed there two nights in August '07. Banff an expensive, crowded tourist trap. Homestead Inn pleased: value, comfort, cleanllness, elbow room, location. I agree with at least the last five commentators, below. Our room on the quietest floor, the third. There appeared to be no way tor traveler to eat cheap and well in Banff. We ate at Melissa's restaurant next... more

The Homestead Inn is a basic hotel located just two blocks from the main shopping area in Banff. There are no elevators and the walls are very, very thin. You can hear people lugging heavy suitcases up the stairs all night and down the stairs early in the morning...and you will do your own lugging if your room is not... more

First of all, this is not B&B. It's just a very basic motel, as the front desk mentioned as well. This motel is something like Motel 6 but at a much higher price. No alarm clock. Front desk closes at 11pm. You may feel a bit unsafe if you stay on the ground-floor rooms, because the room entrances directly face... more

The Homestead Inn is in a fantastic location. Two minutes walk from Banff's shops, restaurants and bars. It is basic but very quiet, clean, warm and welcoming. Great if you're skiing or boarding as the bus stop is straight across the street. Plus it is the last pick up of the route and first drop off on the way back,... more

I have just got back from a 10 night stay at the Homestead Inn. Perfect place for a ski holiday. Big rooms, plenty of hot water and heat, very clean and tidy. Towels and beds changed daily. Right in the heart of Banff - lots of the other hotels are on the way out of town and can be a... more

We stayed here for 2 nights in September. The motel-style room was on the 2nd floor and there's no elevator, but that wasn't a big deal. The room was rather dated and worn, but large and clean and maintained, and for the price I paid I haven't any complaints. The room faced the main street and was a little noisy... more

Hotel is really a motel. It is central and clean but basic. Kept awake all night by people moving around in the room above-sound insulation was extremely poor. Front door was right on car park and people banged on the door during the night. Felt a bit vulnerable. Banff is lovely but very touristy and expensive. Melissas mistake next door... more

We were travelling through the Canadian Rockies and the US in the height of summer. When we pulled up in Banff I was worried about staying in such a well known touristy place, but my husband was keen to stay the night in Banff having had a long drive that day. We'd been to most of the hotels in Banff... more
