Stayed at the Mount Royal Hotel for two nights as part of a tour of the Canadian and American Rockies. Overall this is a good hotel - lovely large, clean room - only thing lacking perhaps was a fridge in the room to keep water/drinks cold as it was over 90 degrees outside. We had a street front room on... More

Stayed for three nights at the start of June, on our trip across the Rockies. The hotel was easy to find as it is on the main street, and has ample parking to te rear. It was clear that Banff has undergone some major street renovations, and the main street is now quite attractive. The room was at the front... More

Stayed 3 nights from 28 April 2008. Great location in Banff Ave, decor in the room was a little tired but had an awesome big comfortable bed. There is only 1 lift near reception so as a reviewer pointed out previously sometimes it's quicker just to take the stairs. Was also a long walk to the guest laundry which could... More

A three night stay during our journey across the Rockies other hotels visited were · Sandman Hotel Calgary · Amethyst Jasper · The Thompson Kamloops · Quality Vancouver The Mount Royal is a two-story building right in the middle of Banff – a good location. The hotel has very long corridors & if you have a choice of room ask... More

Despite the good location, DO NOT stay in this hotel if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday with the desire to sleep between the hours of 1am and 7am. Although staff did offer to move us to a quieter room, the rooms offered were of a lower grade than we had paid for and were filthy. This... More

The location of this hotel cannot be beaten for being at the very centre of down town and all its convenience. That comment is based on the experience of previously staying at the Banff International, Irwin's Mountain Inn, and having trekked up to the Banff Springs twice during this stay. If you ski, there is a bus stop at the... More

The location of this hotel can't be beaten. It is right in the centre of Banff within walking distance of most attractions. It is handy for very many restaurants which is just as well because only the desperate would eat in the hotel! We were late in arriving and thought we'd give Tony Roma's a go despite not being very... More

We stayed at the Mount Royal over Christmas & New Year and had a great time - here is the breakdown.... 1) Hotel Good quality hotel for the money, decent sized bedroom and bathroom, nice little bar and breakfast area. The breakfast area is pretty small and yes the service is quite slow so if you are keen to get... More

Took a quick trip for 2 days, 1 night. The hotel is a heritage building and is in need of renovation. The bathroom tiles were cracked and the room was a bit shabby. It is perfectly situated in the heart of the town, so we were able to walk to everything. We did encounter several problems. We were unable to... More

We stayed here for 3 nights after a trip around USA. We were celebrting our honeymoon and were stoked to be upgraded on arrival to a suite. The suite was massive! It had a kitchenette, a lounge room with comfy chairs and a big plasma, a huge bathroom with a makeup bench, double sinks, spa bath and a large shower... More
