My hubby and I got back yesterday from a 3 night "mini" ski break in Banff, and stayed at the High Country Inn. We booked through Expedia and got a great rate (approx. $85.00 cdn per night), so we weren't sure what to expect upon arrival. Overall, we were very happy with our stay! The Auzzie gal at check in... more

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in December. i had room with balcony and it had lovely view. The room was clean and very comfortable. The location was great , only 3 mins walk to centre. I did the waterfalls trail in the snow to Banff spring hotel which has fantastic views. There is safeway , 2 mins... more

We really enjoyed our two-nights stay! The room was spacious and cozy, the lighting well spread, the private bathroom clean and provided with many towels. Moreover, indoor parking and buffet breakfast were free (the only hotel with these free facilities in our whole trip through Canada)!! We would definitely recommend to spend a night here if you ever visit Banff. more

We stayed here for 1 night 09.08.07 as part of our Rocky Mountaineer trip. When we got there the hotel looked dirty the carpet in the lift (you need nerves of steel to get in it) was filthy. There was a used towel hanging up in our bathroom of which there was a bath and toilet and your wash basin... more

High Country Inn is in a great location about 2 blocks east of the main strip where the shops, bars and clubs are located. The Inn itself is basic enough but with comfortable, clean rooms and secure underground parking. There is free wireless internet, the connection can be a bit intermittant so its not ideal for using VOIP but it... more

I have just returned from a tour of Banff, Jasper and Vancouver. We stayed at the High Country Inn for 2 nights at the start of the tour. The rooms were spacious and clean and the location of the hotel was great - only a couple of minutes walk to the town. We received a complimentary breakfast at the hotel... more

This hotel was ok, but we wouldn't come back again! We had picked this hotel because it had a pool and a hot tub! But when we got there we found out that, well the hot tub wasn't hot, and didn't work, and that the pool, that was meant to be heater wasn't! It was horrible. They offered to let... more

Just spent a fabulous Easter holiday in Banff and can't say enough great things about this family friendly hotel! I was somewhat hesitant while reading previous reviews of this property as I had already booked my room through Expedia and didn't want to bother with the hassle of changing. We didn't seem to experience problems with heating, (although it was... more

We stayed for 6 nights in March. This hotel is rated 3 stars by some of the large travel booking sites (e.g. Orbitz, Expedia, etc...). It should clearly be rated as a 2 star hotel at most and should not be considered equivalent to what most travelers consider 3 star choices (e.g. most decent Holiday Inns). If budget is your... more

The best thing about the hotel was that it was in an excellent location, far enough from town to not get involved in the nightlife and close enough to walk into for shopping and eating etc. The girls at the front desk were extremely helpful, especially as we had lost luggage, and they constantly tried the airline for us so... more
