We very much enjoyed our stay at the Douglas Fir. The room was quaint and rustic. The beds were comfy. The breakfast groceries were waiting in our condo when we arrived. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The kids LOVED the waterslides. And we loved the great off-season deal, stay&ski 3days for the price of 2. We will most... More

The suite itself, was satisfatory as we liked that it had a single, seperate bedroom. It was clean, but as others have said, not luxurious. What was so very diappointing was the 3.5 hour wait we had to get into our room. We arrived at check-in time and were tols, our room would be ready in 30 min. We returned... More

We enjoyed our stay in the Bachelor Suite which provided a breakfast pack and full cooking facilities. The room was adequately comfortable and spacious although a little warm for the summer month of August that we were there. We had a balcony with a great view which was enjoyed immensely. The room was clean and comfortable although nothing out-of-the-ordinary. Lovely... More

This resort did not match up to our expectations from the website. The 2br A Fame Chalet that we booked was "rustic" which means old. The open fireplace did not work effectively and as result the chalet always smelled of smoke. On the upside the waterslide and pool were fantastic and kept the kids amused at the end of each... Husband and I stayed for a week at the Douglas Fir Resort. Our room had a fabulous view of Tunnel Mountain. Room was spacious & clean, kitchenette was very useful and well stocked with equipment. We got the special that includes groceries and used everything they gave us. Groceries are terribly expensive in Banff so this was a good deal.... More

Family and kids had a great time at Douglas Fir. Douglas Fir is a big resort. the studio condos are in the main lodge, all quite crowded, many with dark north-facing balconies.. The 2 bedroom chalets, 1 bedroom condos and 1 bedroom plus lofts are all off in small separate 4-plexes. We were fortunate to get a great 1 bedroom... More

The room: Although a bit dark, the room was fine and pretty large. We had a room with a kitchen, located in the main building (a studio suite) and it was located on the corner of the building (the big plus: an additional window). The kitchen is well equipped (incl. dishwasher), the bath/shower is relatively new. Most important: it is... More
