We stayed at the "Fir" for 5 nights in Sept. The room was great - all the firewood we could use, a nice kitchenette, and a great shower. We're in our 40's but when it rained, my wife and I used the indoor water slides and had a blast. What else are you going to do? We played foosball and... More

Banff is a world class area that is a must see and the Douglas Fir Resort is a great place to stay. The chalets are tucked into the trees at the base of a snow capped mountain. We stayed in a one bedroom condo which had a full kitchen, seperate bedroom, and living room with a wood burning fireplace. We... More

When you need a nice quiet getaway, this place really delivers. Huge playzone for kids (fits 156 kids), water park with 2 slides, hottub, steam room, pool, video game room, onsite liquor & convenience store plus 2 communal Broil King BBQ's with natural gas and all the tools required. Our 3 room condo had a wood burning fireplace, private balcony... More

This loacation is only a few blocks from the main drag in Banff. It is on the mountian and has great views. We has a room with a fireplace and a small kichen and patio a view of the mountian. There was a waterpark with two slides that were a blast, regular pool with a whirlpool.

We liked the room layout and arrangement but room seems a bit worn out on the whole. Toilet got some smell and the sofa in living room was really soft and may need some sort of cleaning. Suggest Reception staff firmly remind visitors to park their cars in allocated parking lots only but not park randomly, which create frustration and... More

What a treat this was! We had stayed in another Banff facility that was sub-standard for 2 nights. When we walked into the lobby of the Douglas Fir Resort we were greeted by a smiling face who was polite and knowledgeable. When we walked into our room we were THRILLED! It was very roomy and warm, clean and had all... More

We were completing a 3-week driving vacation throughout BC and western Alberta, and this was our final -- and close-to-best -- stay. Check-in was pleasant, quick, and helpful. Would rather stay here than at the Fairmont. Had wine & cheese on the patio, with wonderful view, and cooked a great last dinner in well-equipped kitchen. Room was very large, and... More

If you're looking for a large suite to share with family or friends, close to hiking, rafting and horseback riding, the Douglas Fir family suite is a great value. The kids will have a blast at the double water slide and playzone.

This is the second time I have stayed at the douglas fir resort. This place does not disappoint. The activities that are available for children make this a real hit. Only 3 minutes from the town site you still have the ability to feel removed and have the opportunity to relax. The murphy beds are sooo comfortable! and cool! LCD... More

needed a place to stay overnight on a road trip, and got an excellent late walk in rate. our room was cozy, with a wood fireplace, bed and pull out couch and a kitchenette. the layout of the hotel is a bit of a maze, but staff were great about helping you navigate it. Room was clean and well stocked.... More
