We stayed in a suite with a kitchen and fireplace. Kids loved LOVED the giant indoor playpark and waterslides - all free too. Seemed a bit far out from downtown banff but you get free bus service from the hotel. Can't wait to return! More

Third stay here and would come again. Everything on site, friendly staff and comfortable room, though a bit hot. We had a studio suite in main building for 13 days to celebrate our 60th birthdays and quite big enough for 2 of us. Snow and skiing fantastic. Great to have the covered garage to get in and out-no snow scraping... More

Many thanks for your comments. It’s wonderful to hear you had a wonderful time during your 13 night stay with us. Not only that, but you choose to return to the Douglas Fir Resort & Chalets time and again. Our heated parkade for guests staying within the main lodge certainly comes in handy in the winter months! We wish you... More

Stayed in a chalet suite (for 4 days) with 6 of our family members and ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! Indoor parking which was appreciated!! Loads of room for all concerned, wonderful view from the balcony, and a terrific kitchen area where we always seemed to gather!! The rooms were spotless and there were lots of towels, bathing products and necessities. We... More

Stayed here for 12 nights over the Christmas holidays and loved it! Firstly the staff were some of the friendliest and most helpful I have ever met in any of the places I have stayed in around the world. This goes from the lovely people on the reception desk right through to the maintenance staff as nothing was too much... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Douglas fir for 3 nights between christmas and new years. The place is really great and easy to access downtown banff as there is a bus service that is free to all guests. It was awesome having access to a wood fire and firewood at our disposal. I found the room to be... More

Stayed here for 10 nights and had a 1 Bedroom apartment in a chalet with 3 other apartments- these are detached from the main hotel - highly recommend you ask for one of these. The only down side is that you have to dress for the outdoors when travelling to and from the waterside, spa, pool and indoor play zone,... More

HI, I stayed at this resort with my two young boys aged (6 and 8). It was a little pricey but well worth the money. The place itself was 1 bedroomed with a pull out double (Goes up against the wall). The oven was huge which was an advantage, the bed was comfortable and the heating was fantastic- Gas fire... More

We have stayed here a number of times and this time was the last. No more wood burning fireplaces, they tended our room only 1 of 4 days, the lock on the door was busted and WIFI is absolutely useless! All this and the rates keep going up. It seems impossible to book a specific room (A-frame), there is no... More

Thank you for your feedback and it is regrettable that your most recent experience was not as positive as your previous stays with us. Currently 85% of all of our rooms have wood burning fireplaces. The 9 A- Frame Chalets that we have at the resort are indeed quite popular and do get reserved well in advance especially over long... More
