We stayed at the Douglass Fir in Banff during our trip to Canada. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We booked a room where they include groceries for breakfast. We has bacon eggs toast coffee and orange juice every morning. The staff was friendly and helpfull. The parking is free and there is a laudry. You need... more

This resort did not match up to our expectations from the website. The 2br A Fame Chalet that we booked was "rustic" which means old. The open fireplace did not work effectively and as result the chalet always smelled of smoke. On the upside the waterslide and pool were fantastic and kept the kids amused at the end of each... more

Husband and I stayed for a week at the Douglas Fir Resort. Our room had a fabulous view of Tunnel Mountain. Room was spacious & clean, kitchenette was very useful and well stocked with equipment. We got the special that includes groceries and used everything they gave us. Groceries are terribly expensive in Banff so this was a good deal.... more

Had a Studio in Lodge Building. Very clean, rustic, double Bed, comfy Pull out couch, full kitchenette, and a great mountain view from our balcony. Great place for kids, Pool, Waterslides, wilderness hiking paths. Short drive to Banff, Gondola, Hot Springs. Overall great facilities for families. more

Family and kids had a great time at Douglas Fir. Douglas Fir is a big resort. the studio condos are in the main lodge, all quite crowded, many with dark north-facing balconies.. The 2 bedroom chalets, 1 bedroom condos and 1 bedroom plus lofts are all off in small separate 4-plexes. We were fortunate to get a great 1 bedroom... more

The room: Although a bit dark, the room was fine and pretty large. We had a room with a kitchen, located in the main building (a studio suite) and it was located on the corner of the building (the big plus: an additional window). The kitchen is well equipped (incl. dishwasher), the bath/shower is relatively new. Most important: it is... more

We were 2 families with children ranging from 6 - 12 who stayed at the Douglas Fir for 2 nights in July. The rooms were a little dated and small with the murphy bed down but we still really enjoyed the accommodation. Everything was spotlessly clean including the stove, fridge and kitchen area. We liked the ambience of the surroundings... more

I relied on Trip Advisor and the reviews to book this resort. Now be prepared that everything in Banff is overpriced....so if you are looking for value based on the money paid, I would give this resort a thumbs up. The staff were friendy, and the package offered was ready upon check-in. The one bedroom chalet was adequate. It appeared... more

First off, I must say that this is the type of hotel EVERY family should book with kids. We travelled here with our two girls (9 & 12.... going on 13 & 16).... This is the first time the girls have been to the mountains and my husband wanted to give them the most of that! Unfortunately the hotel's ammenties... more
