The hotel is across the street from the Bow river with a lovely walking trail. It is a quite hotel that was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff was helpful. The air conditioner did not work well and you could not leave the sliding door open at night.

The place is average. The rooms are quite large but dated. The people at reception indifferent. The breakfast is great. There is ample choice and the food and service at breakfast is excellent. The breakfast makes up for the lack in other areas. The location is really good if you do not want to be in the heart of Banff.... More

I used trip adviser and its ratings to locate this hotel, but its booking agents failed me. I ended up paying what the front desk wanted. Priceline failed me the whole trip, wouldn't come online. But luckily I paid the lady up front. The reception area is deceptively very tiny. The receptionist gave us a large room on the ground... More

This was our second port of call on the tour and we stayed 2 nights. The staff where friendly but the reception area was a bit small. Again, described as a budget hotel, the room was large, clean and the bed was huge. The linen and towels were clean and fresh. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room. The overall location... More

Stayed for two nights early September. Third floor room overlooking the Bow River. Clean, quiet and close to Banff Ave with its shops and restaurants. We were able to use the leisure facilities at the sister hotel. Overall reasonable considering Banff prices

Stayed a couple of nights on a tour of the Rockies but was pleasantly surprised at the location. We had a lovely room overlooking the river. Weather wasn't great but downtown was about 5 minutes walk away so really handy. Lots of good restaurants around too. Only downside was having to find breakfast. Didn't fancy paying 19 CAD for breakfast... More

Maybe not be new, an older hotel, but it was a nice, simple, clean, comfortable place to be. Location is wonderful, quiet, the Bow River is behind the hotel and there is a walk way. You can walk easily to downtown with restaurants, shops etc. Gas station nearby. Once you get yourself settled, you'll find it is a Good base for... More

We were happy with the location of the hotel which was easy walking distance to shopping. Room was clean and we had a view of the River. We were impressed with Dan who was working the front desk (alone) and quite busy. He ignored a consistly ringing phone to give full attention to those checking in. We wondered if another... More

Bow View Lodge is a real surprise: it could very well be the best place to stay in Banff and the price is excellent. We stayed here late in May in a room with river view for less than 100 CAD per night, a real bargain. The hotel is beautifully located on the Bow River with nature right across the... More

We have 8 nites of accommodation in the Rockies, where we splitted 3 nites at Jasper (Patricia Lake Bungalows), 2 nites at Banff (Bow View Lodge) and 3 nites at Canmore (Falcon Crest Lodge) and we have to rate this hotel as average as compared to other two. The room itself is quite large but the wash area is small.... More
