Location Location Location that's what it's all about. This is the 2nd hotel on Banff Ave. from the main downtown. So it's close to walk to restaurants and bars, especially nice later at night when its cold outside. They also have a great cozy bar with a fireplace, which is perfect for apres ski. I was especially impressed with the... more

We stayed early Dec 08 and in a 2 bed standard room. When we arrived the hotel looked pretty basic compared to the others we had passed with log fires etc however the location is fantastic right downtown. You get what you pay for with the room as it's on the lower end of the scale but the beds are... more

We stayed at the Ptarmigan for 5 nights and found it as excellent base for exploring Banff and the surrounding area. We had a family room with 2 singles and 1 double bed. The room was very spacious and comfortable. On our last night it was my wife's birthday and as a surprise I had arranged with our family for... more

I wrote a review in October 2008 and find it interesting that it has been deleted. We had a horrible stay at the Ptarmagin Inn and will never return! The hotel is old and in dire need of renovations. The room was so hot our baby could not sleep. When I mentioned it to the girl at the front desk... more

We had stayed here before in 2003, but reading some of the reviews we were a little concerned, but we need not have been ,the staff were great and put themselves out for you, the rooms a good size and clean.,we stayed for three nights. The bar area is great on cold nights, good crack with all the other visitors. The... more

The hotel is in the center of town and you can walk to many of the shops. The underground parking was secure. The restaurant was pleasant and the food good. Our room was on the third floor and sweltering. Luckily we had an window that opened to the outside and fan. We opened both windows and set the fan up... more

We just finished a three night four day work team meeting at the Ptarmigan Inn. First let me say, the location of the hotel, is excellent. Right at the start of shopping, restaurants and entertainment on Banff Avenue. The hotel itself is a little older but makes up for its age with excellent staff, fantastic food and desire to make... more

Where to begin? The bed: Best night's sleep we've had in a long long time. What they call their Mountain Feather Beds are like sleeping on a cloud. The location: Soooo close to downtown. I can only imagine how that would come in handy during the ski season on the colder days when you really don't want to go out... more
